Back from London!

Hello everyone! How was your week? Mine was great but tiresome. I was in London for a week with my relatives. Everyday, we had a few things to visit.
After checking in our guest house, we went looking around and shopped for food and drinks for the week we had to stay there. Actually, we only had to eat our breakfast in our rented flat and after that we went exploring the city of London. We ate our lunch and dinner in the restaurants in between our sightseeing tours.
We did the bus on and off sightseeing tour, the river Thames on and off cruise to Greenwich, visited the London Tower, the St. Paul's cathedral, the Buckingham Palace, the National Gallery museum, the Shard, riding the London Eye and more.
That was a travel experience with lots of walking, riding the tube and the bus. It was fun. It was another way of getting to know my relatives as well. The small children came to know me well and they are no longer hesitant to talk to me though we don't understand each other. We have a language barrier as they are only speaking in Dutch.
Anyway, all was well besides the going back home with the Eurostar. That is another story to tell you later this week. It is time for me to check and reply my notifications.

I have been to London several times. I have visited the most important sights, but there are still a lot places I would like to visit. It sounds like you had the chance to visit many different places

@thelme55 I have been there several times, but there is so much to see and do. My last visit was very short, I hope to stay a bit longer next time.

@kepweng No, but I have visited most of the European countries. There are some places I haven't been yet like Portugal, Ireland and Iceland. We had to postpone the trip to Portugal.

@thelme55 As I recall it the last time many years ago I visited. I was afraid in the Tube at that time as it was packed like sardines.

Yes, it was crowded during the time when people go to work and going home. It was too hot in the tube as well especially last Thursday when it was 38°C in London @TiarasOceanView

@TiarasOceanView Not so much like sardines when I was there. Maybe because my sis and I used the tube after 9.30 in the morning only and took the bus at night time. We didn´t use the tube during rush hours, so it was not bad at all.

I am jealous! Ever since elementary school, I had always wanted to go to London. Now, as I have grown older, I am too afraid to fly. I am glad you had a super trip!

Fight against your fear to fly @Spontaneo. I am always doing that every time I have to fly to my home country which is at least 15 hours flight. Scary but I have to go home every now and then. I hope you can go to London one day.

@thelme55 I guess I am just stuck on the ground from now on. I have flown before, such as to California & a couple of other places, but that is when I was young.

glad ya made 't home safe'n sound. yup, sounds a most busy week! bet that language barrier 'twas a bit diff'cult. sounds's though ya could use a vacation from yer vacation, but how wonderful to spend such with the family.

Yes, it was a busy week @crazyhorseladycx. It was not so difficult as my sis and niece were able to translate the kids' sentences to me. Some dutch words I understood as they were the same as in the German language. I am relaxing now from my vacation. It was indeed wonderful to spend time with the family.

The weather in London last week was very hot especially last Thursday which was 38°C. Friday and Saturday was cooler and rain every now and then. It was fine weather strolling the city of London. Thanks, @Letranknight2015. At the moment, we have only 23°C in Germany.
