Don't Let the Old Man In

I recently watched the Clint Eastwood movie, the Mule. The movie was based on a true story. I did not realize Eastwood is 89 years old. Amazing to watch him act. At the end of the movie there was a song that played and it really got my attention. I really enjoy music anyway. I researched a little and found the song. I have to share it with you. I was surprised Toby Keith (country artist) sang it and he also wrote the song. I did not recognize his voice at first. I watched an interview with Toby Keith. He met Clint Eastwood before the movie. They talked about the movie. Toby asked him what the movie was about. He told him about the drug cartel and an old man. Toby Keith asked Eastwood how he kept going at age 89. He said, "I just get up every day and I don't let the old man in". That gave Toby an idea to write this song. He sent it to Eastwood, he loved it, and it is part of the movie now. Listen closely to the words in this link. And the video scenes are all taken from the movie...

I kind of feel sorry for Clint Eastwood. His last wife left him a couple of years ago. I love that he keeps working.

I watched this several months ago when I was sitting on my friend's furbabies. Her dad rented it and we watched it late one night. I liked the movie, except for the ending. The song made me want to tear up!

I never put spoilers in my posts, I wish you would maybe edit that one perhaps? The song did make me cry. Then to her the backstory, made it all very special.

That's cool thank you for sharing. I always enjoyed his movies. He's only a few years younger than my mom but certainly a lot more aware. I will watch out for the movie.
