Do any of your friends have bad habits that bother you?

I didn't wake up grumpy this morning, but for some reason I was thinking of my friends' bad habits that bother me. I have one friend who coughs without covering his mouth in any way. We'll be chatting away and suddenly he'll cough, mid-sentence, right in my face. Another, if we're out and about, is always looking for a bar, no matter what time of day it is. I like to drink, but it's usually late at night. Bars bore me, unless I'm playing music at one and getting paid for it. Still another insists on eating a THC gummy when we go out in public. He gets into his own world and becomes hard to talk to. Again, I'm not against getting stoned now and then, but not when I'm going to be out in public. And then there's my friend who knows everything and will not shut up. Even if he ACTUALLY knows nothing about a subject (guitars and playing music, for example), he will try to dominate any conversation he enters, and often provides "facts" that are dead wrong. And of course there's my absolute nemesis: people who interrupt all of the time. Many of my youngest friends eat their boogers, but that doesn't bother me. I think I occasionally dined on boogers when I was four as well. Do you have friends who have bad habits that you can't help but notice?

How do you pick your friends? Do you ask folks about their obnoxious meter?

Heh. I think everyone has bad habits, once you get to know them. At least I don't pick my friends' noses.

I don´t like people who think that they know everything. They are usually giving lectures on every subject. The other people that bother me are those that are always submitting others to third degree questionings

@TheHorse Some people start questioning others (socially) about things that are private. For me it is shocking. They seem to think that they have the right to ask them about everything as is they were culprits of something.

We have a woman friend who likes to dominate conversations and another who does all the talking for both herself and her husband. If you get him on his own, he chats away quite easily but if his wife is there, he never gets the chance to say a word.

@TheHorse Mostly only if she uses the bathroom before they leave. We actually don't see them much at all now. They also had a habit of arriving just before a meal time which was okay for a while but then became a bit of an imposition, especially once we found it was happening to at least three other friends as well.

My boyfriend's relatives have a few things that bother me, I try to ignore them. Like telling me about having things reevaluated in my neck after being told NOT to have surgery on my neck because it's too possible for me to be made a quadriplegic. I tend to believe the neurologists that told me that. I don't like people telling me what I saw wasn't what I saw, like on a jungle ride at Disneyland I saw a mallard duck and the person with me told me it wasn't real...then we saw a whole flock of them on another Disney lake. The other thing I hate is seeing someone running around with a booger hanging from their nose...I keep wiping my nose to give them the hint and they don't get it and you quietly try to tell them and they holler "What?" and you finally have to yell at them "YOU HAVE A BOOGER HANGING FROM YOUR NOSE!!!!" Then they use their finger to pick it from their nose and flick it from their finger and then eat their meal without washing.

Of course I wondered what my most alloying habits were as I was writing it. Do you think my chronic and highly odoriferous gas could be bothersome to some, especially in cars and elevators?

@TheHorse I think it is very hard to love someone with unpleasant breath. Such a person can only be loved from far away.

Yes, bad breath is a nemesis of mine. In fact, if I dated a woman who looked like...whomever...but had stinky breath, it would be a deal-breaker, even if I'm only a 9.25 in the looks department. Heh.

I cannot stand people who stick their fingers in their nose, it's gross, same those who try to clean their teeth using their fingers while they are eating. Those who smoke without asking permission also bother me a lot.

@TheHorse As you are at a good distance what you do is not my problem. Should be here in my garden the reply would be "NO please", I am allergic to smoke and I do not want to end up with red puffy eyes.

I try not to let it bother me because I know I have bad habits that I'm trying to break, interrupting people when they talk is a biggy for me. I do my best to wait.

@TheHorse I don't know. It's hard for me to wait when I have something to say. I'm learning though. I will apologize for interrupting.

I am a caregiver, nothing shocks me or bothers me anymore. However, the only thing that bothers me about anyone is a close talker, ya know in my space, or one that touches and we are not that kind of friends, or even a close friend.

I don't know if I've had any close talker or overly touchy friends. I'd have to think about that one. I've had bad breath college students, though.

Lol! Yes, of course, some of my friends have bad habits. One, love to curse in Filipino, words which I do not like. One, love to eat popcorn when we are watching a movie in the cinema. I hate that sounds of popcorn when watching a movie because she eats with an open mouth.

People who interrupt REALLY annoy me. But so do picky people. It happens that one of the guys I work with is not only horribly interruptive, BUT is also picky as hell about his food. It is extremely annoying. I want him buried in my backyard (this seems to be a theme with me lately). lol
