What in the World Was THAT?

Of course, the primary reason I like to peruse the thrift stores around town is because I tend to be a thrifty guy, and I can't pass up a good bargain. I swear half of my wardrobe is from a thrift store. But there is another reason it can be a lot of fun.
It's what you sometimes find on the shelves.
We have all come across those perplexing items that leave us scratching our heads a bit, thinking "why in the world would someone have even bothered to donate THIS?"
Burnt candles, hairbrushes missing teeth and lumped with clods of hair between the bristles, soiled mattresses, ripped couches, and even UNDERWEAR for crying out loud—and NOT new pairs mind you.
What leaves me scratching my head sometimes more often than questioning the donation is why someone actually decided to put the donation on the shelf!
Like this doll I found at the Mission Thrift. Clearly it is a horror right out of some wicked movie. Her face is crushed and half of her hair is gone—and she actually looks like some kind of freakish hairy monster.
What child might want this, I wonder? What HUMAN might want this doll?
While I am all for repurposing, I must say that no matter how you slice this one up, some things are better left for the landfill than put on a shelf anywhere.
If this one happens to find a good home, I can only wonder what she may be used for?

I collect costume dolls from around the world. When I see this doll it makes me feel sick. This doll should be thrown away. No child is going to ask their mum to buy this doll. Some time are talented at making something old and ugly look good again. I don't think anyone could buy that doll and improve her.

I blame the one that donated it and the one that put it on the shelf! No one will buy it.
