In addition to reading, writing and video games, I absolutely love to cook. Unfortunately I am unable to do much of that anymore. Sometimes my husband will use one of my recipes and make something. I have developed my own recipes for spaghetti sauce, BBQ sauce, cabbage rolls, etc.
For the holidays this year we will set up a card table in the kitchen where I can sit and make the cabbage rolls. My husband will do the standing and will be wilting the cabbage leaves in boiling water. I'm looking forward to that.
Do you like to cook? Do you have a special recipe that you've developed?

What are cabbage rolls? I am Belarusian and we have something where we take some ground meat with rice and roll it in a cabbage leaf and then cook that in a tomato sauce. We eat it with sour cream. Is that similar?

@LindaOHio I've never made them myself. I either buy in a Russian store already made in the hot food section or I have some when my mom makes them.

@lovebuglena They are definitely a lot of work. When we make them, we fill the large roaster up to the brim.

Yep! We add saurkraut to the roasting pan as well; but otherwise it's the same.

Cabbage rolls are very good. They're filled with ground beef and rice; and we add saurkraut to the roaster and tomato sauce, etc. Then we bake the roaster for about 3-4 hours until everything is tender and melded.

No, we're retired now; and I have no interest in going back to work...especially a restaurant. That's a LOT of work! :-D

I cook because I like to eat. If I could afford it I would eat out every evening.

I'd love to have a personal chef and be able to tell this person what I want each night! I'd have a lot of salads -- all that chopping and prepping takes so long to make a salad with a lot of ingredients.

I do love to cook too! I would love to be able to do that for a living even....but don't know if I ever will because of my anxiety. Never heard of cabbage rolls

I am kind of like Carol. I have the recipes from my Mom and Grandma that I use a lot. My husband loves to cook so he does a lot of it as well.
