Grandkids and Pizza / myLot

Happy Sunday Everyone! it's another beautiful day here but a little on the warm side. The morning started out cool but now I had to close the windows and put the a/c back on. Yesterday was a mixed up day here. Nothing went according to plan (not that I really had a plan). After my morning got sidetracked with my computer issue and my daughter coming over to fix it I figured the rest of the day would just be routine. Mid-afternoon the doorbell rings and it's my granddaughter and grandson. She's home from college this weekend and came for a visit. After catching up with the two of them and having plenty of laughs, they told us their mom and dad were going out for dinner with friends and they were going to fend for themselves. I asked what they were planning to do and they said they were going to pick up pizza and go home and just hang out. So, we decided to have pizza together and play cards. It turned out to be a fun afternoon and we parlayed it into the evening. It was all totally unexpected and sometimes those turn out to be the best days. Today I"m expecting to be quiet but you never know

The unexpected visits are some of the best, aren't they? Vin and I have been playing a board game most evening and that's been fun. Luckily we mostly seem to take turns in winning.

sometimes when we dont plan for something, they turn out well. better do things unplanned. happy for you as you enjoyed the company of your family.

It's quite warm here as well and sunny

Staying to visit with you, having pizza and playing cards sounds more fun then if they had just gone back home. I'm glad you had a nice time with them.

I love time with the grand kids. Unfortunately, they all live more than 600 miles to the south. We will see them again at Thanksgiving. I hope we do anyway. My youngest daughter's birthday falls on the Holiday and they may take the event and go do something special. Will they take the kids? Who knows, we haven't gotten an answer back yet. I would love to live closer, but it is just too expensive to live in California anymore. Being retired and on a fixed income can be a downer at times.
