Just Try Getting a Flu Shot! Gee Whiz!

Hubs and I just returned home after driving back and forth to various pharmacies for over two hours. Gee whiz! We went to our pharmacy to get the latest and most potent flu shot. They were all out. We went to another pharmacy and they were all out. They did suggest their sister store and that is where we were finally able to get our flu shots. Neither of us have had the flu in over 30 years since getting our first shot, and we want to keep it that way. We are out and about in public every day and in crowded restaurants every weekend. We like the protection. I have already heard of people coming down with it. Have you received your flu shot this year? ~Photo of some of my marigolds still blooming~

Yes I did about two weeks ago. I always call ahead to make sure. Marigolds are pretty.

We've never had to call ahead in the 30 years we've been going. This was a first. Glad you got your shot. Thank you!

I used to get the flu so often, especially since I was a teacher and around sick kids and teachers. My husband only had it once or twice, and never wants it again.

@MALUSE They sickened me until I began getting the flu shot. Nothing is more fun than having a student sneeze in your face, or worse, vomit on your reading table. Oh, I'm so happy I'm retired!!!!!

I lucked out and got mine for free at the Harvest Festival last weekend. Glad I didn't have to hunt around for one.

None of us get flu shots . We inevitably get sick during the season, but mildly. My dad had his bypass surgery a couple months ago . . . they recommended heavily that he get a flu shot this year and he did recently . . . we will see how it works out for him in the next few months - it would not be good for him to get the flu.

@DianneN Surgery went well - he is healing just fine - thank you! This was early August, but I will tell you that was another ordeal this year - long story - but now he is good !

I got my flu shot last week on Saturday at CVS. My mom was with me and they didn't have any for her available. I called Costco and they did so I drove her there.

@DianneN Thanks! Originally Costco told me they've been swamped and no longer taking anyone for flu shots. But I mentioned my mom is only in the area today so they let us slide

Thank you! You may have been allergic to some of the ingredients. We had to sign off on some of those and all kinds of health issues. We passed, but my arm is getting achy now.

We've had ours but it hasn't stopped us getting colds but they're probably a different strain or whatever from the one we've been inoculated against.

@DianneN To be honest, not a lot better. The cough is just a tickle and try as I might I can't stop having to cough. If it goes on for too long, my head starts to pound. But I'm sure in a week I'll be fine. :)

Pretty marigolds! Yes, I got a flu shot last week, at my doctor's office. It's a good idea, to keep those flu spreading numbers down. We're out in the public a lot, it's vital to get this immunization.

@kobesbuddy I’m not surprised. The pharmacists we saw told us they don’t know when they will get more. The demand exceeded the supply.

@DianneN Nope. It's given free to us as senior citizens by our local health clinic worker. It's the government that provides the medicine. Now it's running out of stock.
