Bad news

So I just glossed over this news and thought, wow that is not good.
So it said that 40 million pounds of bacon goes uneaten in U.S. I love bacon and eat what I think is my share of it but I can't eat 40 million pounds.
First I thought it was going to tell about people buying bacon and throwing it away but that is not the story at all. That there would have been some really bad news. I mean who would waste bacon like that? That should be a crime. 
No this is about the pork bellies that they thought they would be exporting to China due to the African swine fever that was wiping out a lot of their pigs. What they didn't know is that China was going to want the whole carcasses and not just the pork bellies cut. Other countries do import quite a bit of the ham cut but not nearly as much of the pork bellies cut. So now they have all this extra with nothing to do with.
Maybe with all this extra maybe bacon prices will go down? I could buy more then.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Once, my dad employed some chinease workers to do some renovations for us. One of them saw my dog and told me "this is a good meat". They even eat dogs. :-(

I like bacon but don't eat it very often. Seems like a shame that all that good bacon is going to waste

Hmmm that may explain why bacon has been so cheap around here compared to what it has been. I have been buying bacon every week and putting it in the freezer. I want to get what I can before they start raising the prices again.
