The philosophy of leftovers. My omelet.

I am afraid that I´m a leftover eater. Yesterday I cooked all that was left of pasta but I could not eat it all. It was very good but still I don´t like to eat just because "I cannot waste the meal" I was brought up in the obligation of eating more than what I wanted because in far Africa or Asia there were hungry. When I was old enough, I decided that I could make my own decisions and I eat as much as I wanted and no more. It was then that my leftover era began. How does anyone know before handed how much to eat? When I go to a restaurant, I thank for the great idea of the "Doggy Bag". I´m sure that not many dogs have eaten out of them. Now that I live alone, I always have leftovers. Omelets are so easy to make that I can make them with just about anything. The only leftover that my doggie has is the water of the canned tuna. She loves it. And I would eat it if I didn´t have her.

I've always eaten left overs if there were any. Mom never let food go to waste, if we didn't finish a meal she would save it and use it to make us lunch the next day but usually there wasn't a lot left. Since I've been on my own I have leftovers all the time because when I cook I always make too much. It isn't easy to cook for just one person.

It is difficult to lear how to cook for the number of person that will eat. All the time I have a party, I have to put away and freeze lots of leftovers. But I don´t waste.

Yes when cooking for one it is hard to do. I get it. And I too never want to waste a bite. It does not come easy food here.

I do not cook a lot of food, just what I know we are going to eat. If we are still a bit hungry I can serve a little piece of cheese with walnuts or fig jam. I do not like to waste food, but I am not a fan of leftovers.

I never cook a lot of food, except when I cook for parties. But sometimes I don´t judge exactly how much is one portion.

@marguicha Sometimes it's hard to make only one portion. Impossible when preparing a roast.

I always check the fridge for leftovers because my policy is to consume the leftover within the next day otherwise it has to be thrown away.

I used to eat everything rather than waste it but then i read that that was like treating your body as a rubbish bin so I've managed to stop doing that. But we rarely throw out any food. We manage to make it into something tasty for lunch if not for dinner.

I know how to make other dishes with leftovers. I don´t like to eat the same thing every day.

Some people can't eat leftovers. It's a good thing that you like leftovers and don't waste food! I like leftovers -- stick them in the microwave and eat!
