Working hard

I am doing what hubby was supposed to do yesterday.
Everything is out of the refrigerator.
Shelves and bins as well.
It is unplugged and I am washing it down.
Why? Well it has decided not to cool efficiently. That happened once before. I fixed the problem by doing what I am doing now. This refrigerator is only four years old, it should be working still.
I want to be able to plug it back in before I go to the herbal cooking class, to see if it starts cooling again.
I was too tired to come here last night or to clean last night. I am definitely a morning person.
Have an excellent day.

I cleaned the deep freeze this summer, too.

@LadyDuck I think I used cooler chests, but I also waited until I had used a lot of my food.

@GardenGerty I still have to clean the smaller one, but I have not enough space left in the other to move things there.

Four years is a very less time for it to give issues.

They do not make them as good as they used to. I agree. Four years is not very old, it should not have problems.

My refrigerator sounds like a lawn mower. I recorded the sound, and played it for several people. Some thought it was a lawn mower, some thought it was a car revving its engine. The sound goes on for hours. My apartment complex days it's not fixable. It makes the sound 12 hours a day. The other half it shuts off.

Do you have a freezer compartment? Check to see if there is ice around the fan. Mine did that for a while. Last year it did that, and I had to defrost it to get the ice around the fan box to melt. It has been good since then.

@AmbiePam HOpe it helps. I need to go do as DianneN suggested and clean the coils under my refrigerator as well.

Sometimes, turning off and on does help. This summer when I was relocating the shed there was one stubborn bolt I couldn't undo so I took my electric saw to it, which didn't help and the saw stopped working. I tried it again later in the summer and it worked again. And since you had success with this method before, hopefully it'll work again.

I wish that worked for my brain. The freezer is running quietly, so hopefully the temperature will drop and all will be good.

I will be sure to do that. I remember when the coils used to be on the back.

@GardenGerty You're probably right. I think the white goods are less quality now than they were before.

I am still not sure if it helped. The freezer is freezing, though, so that is a good thing.

Yes, I eat the older food. This was a "deep clean". I try to keep track of what I have and throw very little out, ever.

Hubby used a special glass protectant so they will be easier to clean next time.

If the fan is frozen up, cleaning and defrosting will help. Keeping it cleaner may help it last longer.

@GardenGerty I'm glad the freezer is freezing. That should be a good sign the fridge will cool.

Now that I am not a caregiver I might look into a herb class, I have already learned so much from you and I thank you for that.

You don't know the half of it. I was awake at 3:30 due to hunger. Got up and had a snack and went back to sleep until 6.
