Shipping the Car to Florida

I’ve been busy deciding what I want to send to our condo in Florida. Of course my husband went berserk when he saw the piles I made on the bed and in my closet.
However, with his super packing skills, he managed to fit everything neatly into three large boxes. They are in the trunk of our car. I will add some other bags tomorrow just before our car is picked up.
We are having the car shipped to Florida for two reasons. First, we want two cars down there. Second, we save hundreds of dollars shipping my stuff by United Parcel Service.
So, besides paying bills for two homes today, that’s all I’ve been doing.

@Alexandoy We actually live there. We became residents last year. Our house up north is now our vacation home.

No, no, no!
. UPS doesn’t ship cars. A transportation company will ship the car with the trunk loaded. We used to ship things back and forth with UPS and sometimes the cost was close to shipping a car.
Thanks, the weather will be bright an clear. We leave early Thursday morning and arrive in Florida about 10:25 am

@LindaOHio I’m actually not panicked now that my stuff is packed. lol
We have the name of a few car transport companies. They are big car carrying trucks. They will pick the car up at our house and drop it off in Florida in 2 - 3 days. It’s quite easy. We only used them once before when my husband bought me the sports car in Florida to keep there. It only fits two people, so was worthless. We shipped it to CT where it will remain.

Having a second car is good if one needs repairs or you want to do something separately.

Oh dear I don´t know if I can get to that one in time then.
Next thing I know you will have changed that very stylish car.
I love Audis for smooth rides I have never noticed a bumpy road when being in one.

Thanks! We are heading back to Florida tomorrow.
As the car was being shipped today, my husband told me he wants to get a new car next summer, so you better hurry. I don’t know what we will get next, but it better be as smooth a ride as this one is. AND have a big trunk for my stuff!

How long will it take for your car to be shipped to your Florida home?

@LeaPea2417 It is! Two men take turns driving. The truck carries 8 cars. It brought out all of our nosy neighbors.

@DocAndersen We have my sports car in the garage with a trickle charge whatever battery and will drive the SUV to our son’s house. He can drive it whenever he wants to to keep the battery charged. It’s new, so he can keep it in his garage. Everything worked out well this year. We will see what’s up next year.

What a great idea, shipping all the stuff in the trunk of the car, I will remember that when we start flying to Florida.

Good thinking Diane don't forget the glove box and any other nook or cranny you can stuff things in! I bet you can't wait to get back to warmer climes!
