Two Feral Cats Growling

Have been listening to two cats growling at each other. Not meowing, but growling. One is on my front porch. The other is in the yard. I know this usually means one of two things. Mating or Territory.
It has been going on for over 30 minutes now and they are just looking at each other. I think this is a territory issue. They both want the birds maybe from my bird feeder on the deck. Not sure, just guessing.
The funny part is one cat is solid black and looks just like the Dude. But my two cats stay indoors, they only go out in the screen room. And they are not allowed out in the screen room when I hear these cats.
And yes, they are also looking out the window, listening and watching the show. I am surprised the feral cats do not come up to the window where my cats are. They are busy apparently.
I went out on the porch just now, clapped my hands and they ran off but I still hear them growling. I hope whatever differences they have, they will get them straightened out without a fight.
If you have never heard this low pitched growl, it is pretty scary at first. Sounds like a dog. And then one of them had sort of a crying sound. Hard to explain. I just know I have never seen either of these cats before.
Has this happened in your yard or porch before? If so, what finally happened?
Hopefully they are gone for now. I hope the show is over, almost an hour now. I am done, signing off and will catch up tomorrow. Have a good night everyone!

That also happens here with the stray cats about more than 20 of them. What's not cute is that they do that at midnight. Getting wakened by those growls and love sounds would make me freak out sometimes.

@CarolDM perhaps those folks brought some 'f their cats, too? then 'gain, the ferals here're purty, so i reckon that aint'n indication, lol. i've got one 'f the older calico's to where she'll lemme pet her briefly, she's a dark beauty. 'd my eye'n her since first seen's a lil awkward kitten.

When I lived in my other house the noise of wandering cats was pretty common. I can remember that growl well whether it be for mating or territory (as you said). Thankfully we don't have many cats wandering around here and I don't miss them.

Before I was not used to listening to that annoying sound of the cats. I used to stop it by splashing then a can of water and they run away. But now I realize that they are mating. Do I need to disturb them for our cat is a male? Nope. I let them finish.

@CarolDM For they're done mating. Why are they too noisy when they're doing their things?

Luckily all the outside cats here have not growled. They all get along just fine. After all Silky and Tux are daughter and father
