It Hovered Around Me

I was doing a video chat with my son one night. Soon, I saw something hovering around me. It was a shape that I could not define but looked like a ghostly figure. It stayed on the left side of me. I kept asking Mike what it could be. I told him exactly where it was in the video. He finally saw it and was not sure either. I was getting really anxious about it. Mike suddenly said, "Mom, is that your thumb?" I moved my hand and the apparition disappeared. Have you ever been scared of your own thumb? Have you ever had a frightening experience with a simple answer?

I thought it was something otherworldly or something strange from this world. I am glad my son figured it out. I thanked him after he stopped laughing.

My son laughed a lot and then I started laughing. I was never so glad to see my thumb. Good times!

You fear so much to have ghosts around you that you are surely scared by your shadow.

@akalinus I believe in ghosts, but I am not really scared when I see a shadow.

@LadyDuck It just felt eerie to have this thing hovering around me. I could not figure out what it was.

I don't really think there are ghosts but we don't know everything that is possible.

You made me smile! I imagine you were downright perplexed without fully knowing what the shape was! I'm just glad it had a worldly explanation!

That is the most important my thumb has ever been. That was its 15 seconds of fame.

Oh goodness! I would have been getting anxious too. I'm glad it was only a thumb - and glad it was your own!!

Now enters a new mystery. What would I do if I was home alone and it was someone else's thumb?

This made me smile, I've done a similar thing. Taking a photo, my finger was across the lens! lol

I bet you wondered what that was on the lens. We all think goofy things sometimes.

@kobesbuddy Sometimes kids are smarter than we are. Especially when it comes to techy stuff.

Yes, once Darth Vader joined us for breakfast, but it was actually a combined shadow from a lamp shade.

No, not really. Except when a tree from across the road came crashing down in the driveway, barely missing the car. The boom from that was pretty intense.

That must have been a scary day. It is good that it missed the car.
