Snowing some more

Yesterday the air looked icy. The snow was those fine little tiny granules. It did not look to be much accumulation. It was cold and I guess snowed some last night, so they cancelled school all around. It is still cold. The snow today is like the Christmas card snow. Big fluffy flakes drifting gracefully down and it is mesmerizing. It is ten in the morning, I am still in my night clothes. I have given my hair a deep conditioning treatment and made some "pour over" coffee, which I guess is trendy right now, but I have had the appropriate filter for many years. I just did not know that was what it was called. I sprinkled my pie spice blend in the grounds so I can get all the "benefits" that the herb lady talked about. I have the paraffin spa heating up for my hands and I am going to take a shower. Today is like a vacation day and I am loving it to bits. Enjoy your weather whatever it brings and take care of yourself.

I wonder where you live that they canceled school due to a little snow. I never heard of "pour over" coffee. What is that?

I am in Kansas, I think it was the ice. Many of our students are rural. Pour over coffee is a "new" thing at some coffee shops but has been around a long time. You heat the water, and use a cone shaped drip method with a filter in. Not the same as an electric drip maker. You pour the water over the grounds, stir it a little so it goes on through. I have had a Melita filter for years and I would use it if I did not have room for a coffee maker on the counter or if I am the only one drinking coffee. It is a very clear, clean and crisp cup of coffee. It is online if you look.

@GardenGerty Yea, I don't care for coffee and haven't had a cup since somewhere around 1991 or so.

That hand treatment sounds intriguing. I need to learn how to give myself manicures.

They use paraffin spas for treatment of arthritis. It really helps my hands. It also is a moisturizing treatment and I seem to be needing that this year.

Yes, the bigger flakes are rare, but make a pretty picture.

It sounds like you are having a pampering day! I hope we do not get snow this year. Even when we do it only lasts a few days but those few days are not nice.

If it is a rare occurrence often people do not know how to be safe and deal with it. I hope you get your wish.
