Happy Christmas Eve! I hope everyone is have a peaceful time. I’m enjoying the unseasonably warm weather and gearing up for more travels. I hope to visit at least one of the eleven states I haven’t yet been to. Here’s another one of those states.
Haven’t visited: North Dakota
More of the Lewis & Clark Trail!! Teddy Roosevelt National Park! And lots of plains!
Yes, North Dakota is another state that is not advisable for travel in the winter. But in the summer? Why not!
Here’s an interesting thing about North Dakota: it was admitted to the Union, along with South Dakota, in 1889. However, no “precedence” was assigned, so neither state could say it was admitted “before” the other.
One interesting thing I found online was Valley City, known as “the city of bridges” because of all the bridges that cross the Sheyenne River. That looks like fun!
There’s the International Peace Garden on the US/Canadian border, Fort Union, and heck, even the wood chipper from Fargo!
It might sound boring to some, but I’m sure there’s plenty of brown signs along the highways to keep me distracted!
North Dakota
38th/39th state (with South Dakota)
Admitted: 1889
Capital: Bismarck

I was there last year if you recall my travel posts. Don't miss the world's largest buffalo.

When it gets warm! While summer just began for you, it’s the start of the cold season here. And, in the Great Plains and north-central section of the US, it can get very cold and very snowy.
Having said that, if it gets too cold here I might head to Florida to see my uncle.
Happy Christmas to you!

We have not been there yet, either, but would like to, when it is warmer, of course.

The wood chipper sounds like a winner! Thanks for the info. The world's largest buffalo sounds like a winner too.

Some interesting fun facts there! I wonder if they have demonstrations at the woodchipper site?
