The Little Rascal Again

Today is a beautiful day filled with sunshine. I was out walking around in the yard just now soaking up the rays. And the black cat showed up. The one that looks just like my Dude.
He jumped the fence into the yard, rolled over and talked to me just like the Dude talks. I know he has a home and can tell he is well taken care of. But I cannot make friends with him. He will kill my birds. That is what cats do.
As I was out talking to the little Rascal (yes I named him), my Dude was in the screen room talking to me. As if to say, Mom, what are you doing! So I came back in and closed the screen room door. I don't want to take any chances of these two meeting and not liking each other.
Funny they have the same personality and talk the same, meow the same, kind of strange. But the little Rascal has front claws, so he would never make it with my cats. And like I said, I know he has a home. I can tell he is taken care of.

Do you know if these two might be brothers? I mean, do you have any idea if they came from the same litter? I was looking at your photo here and I can see that there is some blue tones on his face, and on his hind legs.
That might be just the trick of the camera, but I think it's beautiful.

@CarolDM Ah okay, so it's highly unlikely then. The Dude has no white spots, right? He's pure black?

aw, poor mr. dude! i can see the temptation with mr. rascal though. 'tis true, yer cats 'd be tasty treats 'n 'tis most heartbreakin' to see feathers 'bout.
the ferals here're fat 'n sassy. which i'm glad, but wish they'd tend to those gophers 'n leave the birds 'lone. still hopin' someone'll need some good barn cats 'n come fetch 't least half the 'herd'. though i'd miss 'em...they kinda grow'n ya.

I wonder what was going through Dude's mind as he saw you out there in the yard with Rascal?

@CarolDM Wonder if he's jealous, or just curious?

My cat was totally pissed that someone was here, he came in and went right back out with his tail all puffed up.

@DocAndersen This black cat is the first one I have seen in a long time. He needs to go home.

We have a black kitty that comes to our yard but wears a collar. Takes me back to think of Princess.

Funny, there was a black cat on the property one day, and the next a cat came up here because I think he smelled the black cat. You don't see many outside cats here at all. Most people have the sense to keep to keep their cats in here.
