Time to Hop in the Shower

Our friends and Florida neighbors - the couple on the left side of my photo - arrived this afternoon from New York.
She is our friend who is battling a rare form of cancer and is in a special trial for treatment now. I pray that it is working. I will find out more later.
We are going out to dinner with them tonight and are expecting them at our condo, one floor above them, in 1 1/2 hours.
Yes, it takes me that long to get ready when I want to look my best. Sometimes it could take much longer.

@Njchicaa I do wear a lot of makeup. Flat ironing hair takes forever the heck with that! I rarely do anything with hair expected to pull it back in a low ponytail. But it is all about how you feel. It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks of how you dress, do your hair or if you wear makeup or not.

How exciting! They look like a nice couple. Getting ready? Maybe 1/2 hour...part of that is trying to put on my socks and shoes. My husband has no sense of time; so unless I remind him, he doesn't start getting ready until it's almost time to leave.

I hope you have a nice dinner out with your friends and I hope the trial treatment your friend is going through works out for her. All together I would have to say maybe a hour to get ready I don’t wear much makeup so only thing Inreally do when we go out is my hair and get dressed

@LadyDuck The cancer has spread to other organs. The treatment can only keep it from spreading more.

@DianneN I never wear make up and almost never do more than brush my hair. Saves bunches of time.

@DianneN I've always been a what you see is what you get, girl. I was never into makeup, though I will wear it on occasion. I've tried nail polish, fingers not toes, and found it too heavy on my nails, so that doesn't happen very often. My stylist cuts my hair in a wash and go fashion as seen in the picture. Nothing fancy.

Thanks so much. I’ve been praying for her and for you. Right now she is doing well, but wouldn’t say more. She doesn’t want to jinx herself.
I definitely spend much more time getting ready when I’m going out with others. Much less time going to exercise.

I'd say it takes Jay about 1 1/2 to get ready to go out. And me, I'm ready in about an hour. This is a lovely photo Dianne, I'm glad you enjoyed time with your friends. I have a friend Anita, who's getting a special trial treatment in Chicago, for pancreatic cancer. They gave her 3 months to live and that was over three years ago! God is answering my prayers for her!

@DianneN Anita just celebrated her 60th Birthday, December 21. She is so ecstatic, reaching this age when the specialist gave her little to no hope whatsoever, at the beginning of her diagnosis. She was ready to kiss Michael(husband), Francesca, and Georgia goodbye. This experimental treatment has been a miracle, for her case!

I read the title and saw the picture and thought you were all getting in the shower together that's my brain after taking cold medication, I guess lol
It takes me maybe 30-40 minutes tops? Shower and a little bit of makeup (or sometimes none, I'm finally happy in my own skin) is all it takes! I guess it depends where I'm going out to as well.
Have a great time at dinner and I'll keep your friend in my thoughts, I really hope that treatment works for her.

What on earth are you taking?
I understand completely. My daughter in law only wears makeup for special occasions. She and you are young enough to get away with your natural, youthful beauty.
Thanks so much. We had fun, and my friend told me she is doing very well with the treatments. She didn’t want to say more and jinx herself.
