Unique Numbers

I'm sure I'm the only ding-a-ling that thinks about this stuff but when I knew that the Super Bowl (America's football finale) was gonna be on TV February the 2nd, it got me to thinking about the actual date....02/02/2020. Look at the numbers. Then if you think about #'s, think about February 20th....02/20/2020. What are the odds of that? Well if you go back to the year 2010, you've got 02/02/2010 and 02/10/2010 and 02/20/2010 AND 10/02/2010 and 10/10/2010 and 10/20/2010. And how about 2002? 02/02/2002 and 02/20/2002. Yeah, I'm weird!

To have another year like this one people will have to wait until 3030 and the previous one was 1919.

Naw, ya ain't weird. People always find oddities like this. You watch, it'll be all over youtube in no time. Just found this:
Today (6th May 2017) it is 1001 days until 0202 2020 - which makes it a Meta Palindrome... (this is what happens after months of myself and Elisa researching...

I'm sorry, I have to disappoint you. You aren't weird at al! At least, not for a German. Germans even have a term for such numbers, namely "schnapps numbers". They are seen as good luck numbers. A good number was 9th September, 1999 = 9/9/99. Loads of people married on that day. The same happened on 10/10/10 and 11/11/11. The Carnival season in Germany begins on 11th November = 11/11 at precisely 11 minutes after 11 o'clock. When I go shopping and the cashier tells me that I have to pay, say, 8.88 Euro, we both find this funny. People who get number plates with four equal numbers are envied.

Yeah, I'm still one of those who can subtract, multiply, divide and add without a calculator @JudyEv . My Dad would drill me for hours; which I didn't appreciate at the time but do now.

@nanette64 I think kids need to know HOW to do the basics even if they mostly use a calculator.

A lot of those are palindromes, reading the same backwards as forwards.
