A Little Trip to Menards

A little bit later on I am going to trek out to Menard's for a few things. I've got $45 worth of rebate checks tucked aside from there and will apply some of those today, so based on what I will probably get there like coffee and water, for example, I won't have to spend much of anything out of pocket.
AND they've got the 11% rebate sale going on again so we'll wind up with more rebate checks.
Best thing is even if I pay my bill with the rebate checks I already have, I still get 11% rebate checks from money spent using rebates...
It is win, win. Do you have a Menard's where you live?

@rebelann In a way you could say that. But they are actually VERY different stores. I actually would not quite compare the two or lump them into the same category. You'd pick up on what I mean the minute you walked into a Menards. I am assuming you have never been to one. Is there one near you?

@porwest I find I like the meat better at Aldi than Wal-Mart or Pick and Save. It might be more expensive than Wal-Mart, but it's better quality. Pick and Save is my second choice for meat. I've been getting my water at Aldi lately. $2.99 is better than almost 5 at Wal-Mart.

We buy a lot of traditional stuff there like Glade sprays (with the 11% rebates they are cheaper than Walmart). We usually get bottled water there. The 24-pack of 1/2 liter bottles of Glacier Mist are $1.99, $1.77 after the rebate. If you like K-Cups you can get them for less than $18 for a box of 80 cups; Coffee is cheaper there usually. So are laundry detergents, paper towels, even socks are usually cheaper there. It's a great store. But of course the ONLY downfall on the rebates is that you have to spend them in-store. But we shop there so often it doesn't matter.

lol. What's worse is that I actually still "spend" the original amount that I paid with rebate checks for. For example, I used about $30 worth of rebate checks for my $35 order. I took $30 out of my spending budget and transferred it to my savings. I am nuts about this stuff.

@porwest We have a Walmart 6 miles from us. Menards is at least twice as far. My husband has been in it once though.

@LindaOHio For me, Menards is ten times more fun than a Walmart.

I've never heard of this store here. It's good you get rebates.
