I don´t really know much about the 1st president of the Philippines or that of Germany. Yes, I know their names but not much. Last night, I was not often here. I spent the night watching the tv series about George Washington. Very interesting man. I knew before watching the series that he was the first president of the United States but I didn´t know much about his life and what he had achieved. A remarkable man. We will continue watching tonight. For those who are interested, here is a link for you to check. Thank you for reading. Enjoy your first weekend of February.

Yes, I know a lot about his life, and even taught it in an American history class. So happy you are enjoying learning about him! He was very remarkable in so many ways that most don’t realize.

@MALUSE Yes, I have thought about that. I have heard that the British were paying Germans to fight for them in that time where George Washington was not yet a president.

He was the right man to be our first President. After helping win our war for independence on the battlefield he was admired so much by the public he could of made himself King. But instead he helped establish the two term system of the Presidency as he did not seek to run a 3rd time. He is called the Father of His Country for his great leadership during the beginnings of our nation.

Washington was an interesting man. So was John Adams (2nd president). There are a couple of great books about the US presidency.

I don't know much but we have a Prime Minister rather than a President. Robert Walpole is generally accepted as Britain's first Prime Minister. He was also the longest serving Prime Minister by modern historian's definition.

Thank you for the information @pumpkinjam. Of course, I know that you have a Prime Minister instead of a President.

We only read some facts of them at books during school years but I can't remember it now. Maybe it would be interesting to read bios and history at once Ms. T. Or watch clip about their lives.
