Some Nepali animals we've seen

I’ve put up a collage of some of the animals we’ve seen here. The photo of the monkey was taken at the wedding. There are monkeys in Lumbini too; in the actual town. I saw one go from a rooftop into a tree then hand over hand along a wire when went across the street. Another photo shows a street dog that was eyeing off some goats but I think it was just bluffing as it trotted off as soon as I’d taken the photo. There were a lot of goats mostly tethered here and there on the cleared land. The buffalo was in a backyard (more about that another time). We catch a bus at 6.00am tomorrow to travel back to Kathmandu. Saturday is a free day as is most of Sunday provided we’re at the airport to catch a plane about 11.00pm. We have a 3-4 hour stopover in Kuala Lumpur then get back to Perth about 3.00pm on Monday.

I am interested in the yak because those are what they use to carry things when going up the mountain trail.

@JudyEv maybe I can see the yak for myself if our planned trip would materialize this year. We are still weighing our options until now because the plane ticket is not cheap.

@Alexandoy Flying can be very expensive indeed. I'm sure you'd enjoy your trip and it is very cheap to live here.

We didn't see any yaks unfortunately although we saw plenty of beautiful shawls and scarves made from their fur.

It must be so exciting to see those animals out in the open.

Yes, it is a real thrill but, of course, no-one else is taking any notice of them! They wonder what you've been smoking if you start screaming 'look, look!'

I guess the only 'blogging' I'm doing is here. I have a blog but I haven't been near it in years. I keep thinking I should. At least it would be a record.

@snowy22315 Perhaps. I should think about it for next time. We're hopefully going to China in May depending on the situation regarding the virus of course.

I find it interesting how some countries don't have a problem with feral dogs, here they are captured and put into the pound where they'll have 3 days to live unless someone claims them.

It seems to me they have a better tolerance of the natural world, I like that @JudyEv

Something similar happens in Australia but they seem to be tolerated quite kindly here.

I am sure that Little Miss would get a bang out of seeing a monkey or other animals so close. Not sure how I would handle it though. LOL

@JudyEv I'll eventually bring her to a zoo to see the animals. Seeing them in the open is too close for comfort for me.

You would be worried a bit for her sake I'm sure. I don't particularly want to get too close to them. I don't think they're to be trusted at all.

If you had just posted saying that I got some photographs, and had not mentioned Nepal, I might have thought of these being from India. So much like what we see around. Well, now a days, I also see many dogs loitering around in many parking basements.

We met two people who had spent time in India and came to Nepal for a little break. They found India very 'intense' was how they put it. We found Nepal to be bustling enough for our wishes.

That street dog does not seem dangerous. Monkeys can be nasty.

@JudyEv Ah, back to ones own facilities upon which one does not need to squat. Worth the effort. Don’t go leaving your passport in the plane toilet though - (up to the minute British current affairs reference)

@xFiacre I left my passport in the taxi coming from the airport. Luckily the taxi was part of the hotel service and handed it in. What a mess to sort out if he hadn't!
