Monkeys getting up to monkey business

Today’s bus trip was ten hours long with two short toilet breaks. The second break included lunch but all that was offered was a Nepali ‘set’ which is too spicy for my stomach to handle. It seemed a very, very long way but was only a couple of hundred miles. Luckily, at the dinner break, they had packets of chips so that’s what I had. But now we’ve had a hot shower and a nice dinner and I’m myLotting for a while before I hit the sack (go to bed). I thought you’d enjoy a few more animal photos. The monkey photos were taken through the bus window when we were held up for a few minutes on the mountain road in Nepal. They were smaller than the ones we saw in Lumbini and at the temple but seemed very mischievous. I thought the one on the truck was going to go inside the cab but the window must have been shut. There is a second monkey in that photo. And the big blob bottom left is a curled-up monkey. I’m sorry the quality is so poor. The little chipmunk (if that is what it is) was in the Temple Reserve in Lumbini. There were dozens of them running up and down the trees but just because there are a lot doesn’t mean it’s any easier to capture them with a camera. lol

Lots of monkey business. My son has seen a few in Brazil but kind of off in the distance. He said one place where he was staying the mnager was throwing bananas to them in the trees.

Ten hours nearly drove me nuts. I found it very wearing. And they played loud Indian music the whole way too.

Monkeys are quick little creatures. Sounds like a tiring bus trip but interesting at the same time.

He didn't seem to do any damage. The driver came back after a short time.

It seemed to be never-ending. But a shower then a nice meal made a huge difference to my outlook.

Yes, they weren't a bit phased by all the traffic, etc.

It's great that you withstood the rigours of bus travel. Bus travel even in India is very strenuous.

I think you did a really good job, I know how hard it is to capture wildlife ...... I have a few shots of hummingbirds and doves but have yet to capture one of the resident lizard.

Oh yes, they are so fast that I never even have a chance to lift my camera @JudyEv the minute the lizard sees me he's high tailing outta there. I would probably have to sit quietly for hours just to actually see it.

They're so quick, aren't they? By the time you find them in the view-finder, they've gone again.

@JudyEv Wow that is some tour. I bet it was fun otherwise. I've been wanting to go see monkeys and critters we don't have here unless in a zoo.

@noni1959 We didn't see much that was different. We could have gone on an elephant ride looking for rhinos but Vince did that last visit and said it was very uncomfortable and they didn't see anything anyway atlhough they did see some deer.

On one trip, the bus stopped and it was gent's to the left and ladies to the right - just into the bush/jungle. I held on till the next stop.

@JudyEv That is hard to only have two breaks when you have a 10 hour bus ride. That is so sweet that you came here after all that befoe you went to bed. I love animal photos. You are always thinking of showing us things you have done on your trip. Thanks. I see the monkeys very well. Thank you for the pictures and the posts.

You're very welcome. It was a very long ride and I was nearly in tears at one point as the music was really getting to me. But it's all over now and everything is fine again. Thanks for the kind words too.

Bus trips are nice with many things to soak in while riding the bus. It would be great if you can choose your food. But seems like you're enjoying your trip?

The roads here are incredibly bumpy so that added to the discomfort. But overall it's been fun and we head home tomorrow.

Earlier he'd been at the window but on the far side from me. I was thinking I wasn't going to get a photo when he suddenly turned up at the front.
