Who owns your clocks?

Who owns the clocks in your house? It might seem a funny question so I’ll explain a bit more. We have three clocks in the house. One is on my bedside table. The microwave also shows the time. If the power goes off, these need to be reset. The clock is battery operated and sits on the kitchen wall. If, by chance, either of the two electric clocks is not set to the exact correct time, but are a bit ‘slow’, my husband always says ‘your clock is slow’. It seems the clocks are mine. Funny that. Any other wives own the clocks?

i have to admit something really bad. My wife was chronically late for many years. I actually set her old watch forward 10 minutes.

@LindaOHio @DocAndersen We used to run all our watches and clock 5 or 10 minutes fast but we seem to be better at being punctual now.

I’m single, so I guess I own them. And here’s a song about that:
Starday Custom Press 510. The song "Who Winds Your Clock" was previously recorded by Bucky Bates on 4-Star 1295 in 1949, and rereleased later on 4-Star 1559 ...

There is a normal wall clock in my home. Besides it, there is a DIY digital clock which is made by my son. It is very cool. We also have a sound speaker with a clock and it is in the livingroom. My son also has an alarm clock in his bedroom.

@JudyEv I don't really understand. I don't think we need to adjust to the clock as they work well as long as they have the power

@youless But if the power goes out, who sets the time on the clock when the power comes back on?

Who looks after adjusting them? Is it a joint thing? It seems it's my job in our house - but it's just a joke really.

@JudyEv That is good, I do wish we went back to clockwork wind up watches - digital is all wrong to me and just adds batteries to the waste we can't get rid of easily

@arthurchappell I'm inclined to agree. It wasn't that onerous to wind a watch occasionally.

The clocks on the computer are useful. We found a place that replaces batteries very cheaply so I now have three watches that actually work again.

Exactly. Or if the battery is flat. Luckily, I think it's pretty funny. One of these days, he'll be shamed into doing it himself. He'll probably have to ask me how - which might be why he doesn't do it at the moment.

@JudyEv It reminds me of a guy I know who was living with his brother..They would take turns cooking..His brother asked him "How come when I make something you say it's good, but when you impale it, you say it,s really good?" Similar principle I think!

NO and there is a reason, those on the walls are "radio controlled" and battery powered, they cannot be slow or fast.

@JudyEv MY wrist watch is always 5 minutes fast, no matter how many times a day I set it right, after a few minutes he is 5 minutes fast. ALL my wrist watches plays the same game.

Oh, my! That is funny, Judy! I have two clocks on the headboard of my bed. Both of them are set by the Master Clock in Fort Collins, Colorado. We also have a wall clock in the living room and one in our bathroom that are also set by the Master Clock in Colorado. Our watches might be off by a minute or two (I set my watch to the main time clock at Walmart. Pretty sets her watch by the time shown on her phone.) but they are correct for what we need them for.

@JudyEv That I can relate to. That is why I have two watches so when I need batteries in one I wear the one that works and get batteries in the one that needs it.

We do not depend on the wall clock for the exact time. I always refer to my cell phone or the wrist watch.
