Have you seen this before?

I get caught out here from time to time. I’ll write about something that I think is pretty unique, something that not many people will know about and half of the myLotters know all about it and may even be a bit ho-hum about it. Another time, I think ‘oh, everyone will know what this is’ and ramble on then find myself having to explain heaps more in the comments. So I don’t know if you know what this is or not but I find it a very handy little gadget although it is getting a bit rusted up now. It’s a raspy thing and does a great job of taking of thickened skin on my heels. In the summer, I’m rarely out of thongs (flip flops) and my heels develop a lot of thick skin. I know there are creams you can use but once I found this, I stuck with it. So, is it something you’ve seen before or is it new to you?

@judyev Thank you for the thong clarification. I was actually thinking more along the lines of a parmesan grater, but then parmesan does smell like old feet.

I always clarify my thongs. Vince doesn't like any cheeses much but would agree with you about parmesan.

My parents used to have one of those. It would be of no use to me at all though. I'd need an industrial sander to sort my heels out.

@JudyEv I think getting them sorted may be easier said than done!

@JudyEv I suppose it is potentially a bigger problem for ladies. My heels are very rarely exposed in public.

Once you get them sorted, then it just takes a short burst every now and then.

They're very effective if you get a build up of calloused skin.

@DocAndersen I've been saying for years that computers need a smart aleck filter! But perhaps I should be careful what I wish for. A lot of my own comments might get filtered out.

Mine has 'Scholl' on the handle but I'd never noticed it before until John Welford mentioned it. Isn't it amazing what you miss? And I've had this for years.

I'm not sure if I've seen one exactly like that but I use something similar myself. Mine is a round tin thing. The top and bottom are different sizes of grater-type thing, and there's a pumice stone inside. I'm glad you put 'flip-flops' in brackets as 'thongs' are something very different here!
