Cornonavirus expected to worsen with week. --US Surgeon General

I admit that I'm getting a bit of cabin fever, even if I was able to secure some good Chinese food to go last night. No visits with my buddies to play music. No work with my kidlings. No dining out. Needless to say I was not pleased when I read this morning that the US Surgeon General said that he expected things to get worse this week. His contention is that many citizens, young adults in particular, and not taking the shelter in place/isolate warning seriously enough, and could be spreading the virus. Have you noticed young people being "bolder" than older adults? I have not, personally, but I'll keep my eyes open. Good health to all.

Of course it is going to get worse. A lot worse. They are saying that my school district might be closed for the rest of the school year.

I have no idea when my preschool is going to reopen. At the College, everything is online now.

@TheHorse My father hates isolating himself. He is so bored, he is increasing my work load, and top it all, not clearing his hoarded stuff. Managing kids is easier.

Were they distancing themselves from each other? I've read that outdoor activities are good, so long as you maintain social distance.

@TheHorse It must be hard for you because you have an active social life to be shut in during this crisis. For me it is easy. I like being at home. I only go out when I have to. People are not following the instructions so they are making stricter rules now.

I miss playing music with friends. But I'm enjoying my down time. I'm spending a bit more time on MyLot, working on my book, and practicing more guitar.

It will be. I bet max in my area will be in about two month. Long time we will be trapped in homes.

I'm worried about that. I'm getting a bit bored. But at least we (at least here) can do outdoor activities, with good personal separation.

@mrki444 Yep, me too. I don't do bars (unless I have to play there), but I miss casually going over to a friend's house to pay music.

It looks like the USA is going to be hit seriously by this pandemic. It seems that in Canada that almost everyone is taking the situation seriously.

In my part of the US we're having trouble with people in their early to mid twenties and the elderly (those over 70). Both groups think Covid 19 won't happen to them and if it does it's just a mild flu. One elderly couple come into Walmart every day just to visit with a few of their favorite associates and see what other people are doing. When I ask them if they were worried about getting the virus they told me they were too old and tough so the virus wouldn't bother them. I know that when I refused to sell one woman (in her mid twenties) a shopping cart full of toilet paper she leaned over my register and coughed in my face. Later, a guy sneezed on me when I wouldn't sell him a shopping cart loaded down with cartons of eggs. I almost bathe in GermX while I'm dealing with Walmart customers!

Kids here are not taking the social distancing too seriously so now all beaches, bars, clubs and casinos have closed along with almost everything else.

I have read in a link my friends in group chat sent me that the USA is already number 3 worldwide in coronavirus. Germany is number 5.

The more testing that is done, the more positive cases they will find. It definitely will get worse before it gets better. Young people think they are invincible. I used to think that way too.

Yes...from bad to worse. But I hope it does not enter an uncontrollable state

Those video's showing people drinking in social party time scenes isn't about being bored I think but about not taking the threat seriously. Some think it is a hoax?

It's already spread out there . . . this is an effort to keep it from spreading any further. They are behind on the testing - there isn't enough testing being done - the numbers are actually worse than what we see. People are interpreting the orders their own way . . . social distancing is one thing, but when it creates a crowd, that doesn't help. On the news I do see these crowds on our local beaches and parks/trails . . . I don't know if they are all younger folks . . . but I will say there are tons of people out there who still don't think this is a big deal.

My neighbor's daughter and family just got back from a week in Florida and attended a wedding. Like nothing is going on. And they have a teen. They are invincible I suppose.
