Urgent Care was empty!

I've had a sore throat and just felt bad for a week, so my husband drove me to an Urgent Care today.
I knew it wasn't "the virus", but I'm glad I went.
I was really surprised to learn I have a UTI. Got some Augmenten which is an antibiotic so I'm sure I'll start feeling better soon.
So, just myLotting while my husband is looking at new trucks on line.
I was really surprised, but glad that I was the only patient at the Urgent Care.
Hope all y'all are staying well. Keep up that social distancing!

People are being discouraged from visiting unless absolutely necessary, as in your case. Around here they try to take one patient back before they allow another into the waiting room. They have a person "guarding" the entrance. You answer screening questions, they give you a mask if you do not have one, they ask you to use hand sanitizer. I am glad that your UTI is being treated, it can make you feel awful.

People have either been told not to got to medical facilities, or are scared of going to medical facilities, because of COVID. So it worked to your benefit. I hope the Augmenten works and knocks out that UTI and sore throat quickly!

@moffittjc So thankful to know God is healing you. Has your family been able to be around you yet?

@1creekgirl Worse actually, but I think it was because of the weather. It's been pouring down rain here for two straight days, and I think the hot and muggy conditions has been messing with my sinuses/allergies. I pretty much slept the entire day away today, which unfortunately means I'll be up all night. But overall, I still think I'm headed in the right direction toward recovery.

I'm glad you went in to get checked. I'm surprised that you didn't know you had a UTI. Usually they make you miserable! Get well quick!

The strange thing is I've had numerous UTIs in the past, but for some reason this didn't feel like one to me. Besides the sore throat, I just felt really sick all over like I was coming down with a cold or something.

Did you wear a mask? I imagine most people are afraid to go to a waiting room with sick people who may possibly be carrying the virus and don't know it. I wonder how doctors are practicing social distancing in waiting rooms? Lucky the Urgent Care was empty for you.

I wore a mask the whole time except for temp, etc as did the staff. A nurse met me outside the front door to check me out and then let me go inside. I'm not sure how they handle more than one person waiting in line.

@dgobucks226 It makes me wonder how many of these social changes will become permanent.

@1creekgirl I see. That makes sense. I am sure we will be seeing a lot of protective measures for quite some time

You're right. I ordered two things from walmart and get free shipping and I won't have to go in the store.

I haven't had one in a good while, but I was so surprised. It felt more like how a cold makes you feel sick all over.

I wonder how are sore throat and UTI related

I don't think they're related, but the doctor said the antibiotic would cure the UTI and any possible germs from the sore throat.

I know what you mean. Our first thought now when we get sick is "Have I got the virus?"

I'm glad you got the necessary treatment without much of a hustle and it was nothing serious
What social distancing? I had not gone outside the gates and walls of our house for over a month now, I had completely isolated myself

@1creekgirl Hope it all clears up soon for you. It’s great when places like that are empty and you get dealt with quickly. Shops are the same. I was at supermarket this morning and zipped through it in no time.
