Well, that didn't last long

After talking about our new drone a few discussions back, it’s now sitting sad and alone at the top of a tall gumtree (eucalyptus). We took it down the paddock to try to get photos of the coloured foliage of some trees we planted some years ago. It’s autumn here so the trees are very pretty at the moment.
To cut a long story short, the drone got out of range and ended up at the top of a tree. We couldn’t find it at first but, after going back down at dusk, we were able to see the coloured lights flashing so at least we know where it is.
If the wind doesn’t blow it down, we try using a fishing rod to get a line of the branch and perhaps shake it down. Thank Heavens it was a relatively cheap one. Vince paid a lot less for it than I thought he did so that’s a small consolation.
Pictured is a gleditsia, one of the trees in our 'grove'

I hope that the drone do not receive any damage when it is taken down from the tree.

Oh my goodness, this is such a disappointment:( I wonder if there were very many pictures taken, inside the camera( your drone). I hope it doesn't obtain any damage, when it falls.

@kobesbuddy I was looking forward to photographs of the roos once they got used to it.

@JudyEv You're welcome:) I've seen drones hovering over football games, they can photograph every single move!

I´m so sorry. The drone had seemed a perfect present.

Thanks, Marja. It's a great shame but can't be helped.

Oh yes, it's autumn there...I just envy you, it's summer ahead and i'm not looking forward to it as they announce it will be the hottest in the last 50 years.
I'd say that this tree makes a lot of mess

@JudyEv That's good, it wouldn't be good for this tree to be in front of the house

Hope you can get it down. Is there any kids around that might be able to help depending on how big of a branch it is on. You are making me want one

I am guessing it is still stuck up there? I hope you can figure a way to get it down.

I've lost two drones to the trees, one of which was later retrieved, and the other which is still lost in the branches somewhere!

Pretty picture. I'm sorry Vince lost his drone already. Hopefully it will fall out of the tree and not get damaged.

I can't see what you want to show but I do love the trees that you have. I can spend my whole day there.

How disappointing. Then you still cannot find it today. That would be the kind of luck I would have. I wonder if it will suddenly turn up unexpectedly.

We should have marked which tree it was in when we could see it.

We can't even find it now. I think it's probably gone forever.

Seems like drones and kites have the same nemesis, trees...

This is what I have heard it happened to many drones owners. I hope you can get it down soon.
