Cleaning out Cabinets and Shopping

I got so much done yesterday that I was actually proud of myself. Outside of the usual cooking and cleaning that must be done every day, I cleaned out all my kitchen cabinets, scrubbed them down and got everything in order. then took everything out of the frige and gave it a good cleaning inside and out.
The day before I cleaned closets and took out things to go to the thrift store. I think it opened but I'm not sure. I'll have to check them out.
Today, we went to Walmart and I bought a hand mixer to replace the one that gave up the ghost a few days ago. I also bought a microwave, ours is so old I can't remember how old it is. The turner has stopped turning a long time ago. The thing was so heavy I had to set it down one step at a time to get it in the apartment. I have 7 steps to go down. But I got it in and have it set up and have already used it. It works just fine.
I was happy to see people following all the rules. Most people were wearing a mask and everyone was keeping their distance. Cashiers were wearing masks and gloves, they also had protective plastic panels in front of them.
What are you doing to keep busy?

I have been working non-stop since this whole pandemic began. Well, aside from the days I was sick. But otherwise, it's been crazy busy for me.

@RubyHawk Yes, I am very fortunate to not only have my job still, but to be making extra money in bonuses and extra hours worked. I feel for the 30 million people in this country who are out of work. It breaks my heart. What I hope comes out of this is a renewed sense of industriousness and creativity, where all these people invent new industries, new innovation, and a new sense of purpose. This is a great time to hit the "reset" button on our old way of doing things, and look to the future with a new and purposeful way of doing things.

@moffittjc it's terrible that so many are out of work. Families going without things they need and rent so high people cannot afford to pay. I'm afraid people will be put out on the street. I believe this is as bad as the great depression of the late 1920s. We can only hope things will get better, I'm glad to hear you are doing well and staying busy. For myself I'm about as busy as ever. I always have something to do. Our parks opened and I can go walk anytime I want. I was there yesterday and it was hot but what can you do and I like heat much better than cold..

At least the virus hasn't effected your job, so many are out of work and no job to return to. Since I'm retired it hasn't effected me in that way but sometimes it does get monotonous staying home so much. And from what I heard today, it won't be better any time soon.

Sounds like a productive day. We are not going shopping in stores unless it's an absolute necessity, like groceries, and most of that is done online for pickup. Not ready to get back to normal yet, but it's good to hear that most are obeying the rules. That does not seem to be the case around here.

I'm working on organizing my kitchen cabinets too. I'm rearranging some of the shelves and have nice box of stuff to bring to the thrift store when it reopens.
You certainly were busier than me!!
