Taking Care of Business

Surprisingly I didn't sleep well last night could be the two dogs hogging the bed? lol Today was all about taking are of business. I made doctor's appointments, talk to the lawn people and my plowing man who never billed me.Got an order from the grocery store and tried to get rid of things in the fridge that needed to be thrown in the garbage. I am still working my way through 5 months of mail!! I opened some packages of things I has delivered home and now I am only waiting for an order from Zulily. I dropped Al's broken glasses off at the eye doctors. I have so much more to do but it will be days before I am back to normal. Tomorrow our dogs have an appointment to get groomed and on Friday I get my cortisone shots in my knees, two months overdue. What is happening in your neck of the woods? The picture has nothing to do with anything, it is from a museum we visited in Lisbon.

You sound as if you're on a roll. We had our mail forwarded to Florida and our son cleaned, dusted, vacuumed, and loaded the fridge for us before we got home. Once we did, we slept like zombies for a few days. And then it was like we never left except for the virus.

I can imagine how busy it must be arriving back home after being away for so long. Just getting everything situated so you can settle back in must be pretty daunting. Lots to do I'm sure. I hope you are able to get everything checked off your list quickly so that you can relax and enjoy being home!

@BelleStarr Are you finally settled back in now? I've seen several of your Facebook posts where you have shared photos of some of the wonderful food you and Al had at some of your restaurant outings!

@BelleStarr I'm glad to hear it. I know what you mean about medical appointments. I have a dental appointment next week and 2 doctor appointments this month. My brother has 2 doctor appointments too, so we will be a little busy this month.

Those in the picture look like Orthodox religious icons, beautiful! I cleaned and tied up the laundry room because I was sure that today we had the inspection, but it is for tomorrow! Silly me!

I laughed at your last paragraph. Cortisone. I'm getting a shot or two I think In my thumb joint and possibly my pointer finger which now has arthritis on the first joint. That's happening in about a month unless they do a consult first and make me come back for the shots but I hope not.

My knees feel better but not quite wonderful which they did after the first set of shots. He wants me to get replacements but I’m not convinced yet

@BelleStarr I had cortisone and then other related shots which were supposed to be better through the years. I think the cortisone worked the best. The shots helped me wait an extra ten or so years before needing the replacements. I doubt it will take care of it without surgery down the road. Just don't wait until you're limping so bad you messed up your back. I found using canes helped keep me stable as I need the time for surgery and it helps with the back too.

That museum must have been exciting to go through. I'm busy spending money, deciding on having a partial fix on my floor issue done.

Bella, i feel you on those cortisone shots for your knees. A trip to the Apple store on Friday and find out the final verdict on my stay/moving this summer. A hair cut appointment at a new salon on Saturday afternoon and church on Sunday.

You had a busy day. I hope the shots in your knees help. In my neck of the woods, I published Legacy on Sunday, my sixth book. Now, I'm working on Vendetta the sequel to Thread of Evidence. My goal is to finish it by the end of the year so I can publish it next year. My kids and family are all doing well. I'm glad you made it home okay.

Than you and it sounds like you have been busy as well. Can you swim at you Y? Here the small heated pool is still closed and you need to schedule appointments to use the other pool or exercise equipment

@BelleStarr Yes, it's open. We need to sign up for the lap pool. The exercise pool needs a new pump so it's unavailable. We need to sign up for the fitness room too. I haven't signed up for that yet. I am signed up for the lap pool every morning, and then my grandson needed to take the virus test. So right now I can't go to the pool.

Taking care of business is a good thing - get it going and be closer to being all done - you were gone for quite a while! We are just managing as well as we can here . . . at least the kids are done with the whole online school thing and we are officially into summer break .

I cannot even begin to imagine all of the work that you have waiting for you. When my parents wintered down south, my younger brother used to get his mail, and since he had POA, he would write checks to pay his bills. When they came home it was just a matter of unpacking the car and the luggage and calling all of us to come over and see them. I miss those days, they were always so happy when they returned home.
