Happy Happy Friday!
I just returned from a 9 hole game of golf in warm and beautiful sunshine with my husband and younger son. Our country club has reopened with ultra safe measures. We teed off at 6:30 AM and had breakfast on the patio. Our son picked up croissants at the bakery, and I brought a thermos of homemade coffee and paper coffee cups and napkins from home. The manager of the club allowed us this safe treat. We were the only peeps there!
We arrived home to find a delivery of shades for my husband’s office and an adorable new nightgown I ordered last week. I had to sterilize the boxes before opening each.
Hubs is outside right now planing the bottom two closet doors so they can open over the thick area rug in his office. The area rug arrived yesterday. I am helping him by lifting those ultra heavy doors down the stairs and back up the stairs. Such a joy. Never a dull minute here.
And tonight it’s our Friday date night! I haven’t decided our dinner yet, but we will have whatever it will be outside on the deck.

Those doors were so heavy and cumbersome. I'm so glad that ordeal is over and done with.
I was thrilled to play golf today! I haven't touched a club since we were in Florida.
Anna and I decided that shrimp was in order for tonight's dinner. Hubs is thrilled he won't be cooking tonight. His only job will be making my martini!
Thank you! The flowers were a birthday gift from my brother and SIS. They still look great next to your card!

@just4him My arms better be ready. I already asked for a martini in the larger martini glass instead of the smaller one he's been giving me. I don't want to be gypped tonight.
I'm going to stick with shrimp scampi on linguine with peas. I have to use up a lemon before it goes bad. I will serve it with a small salad.

@DianneN I'm glad the ordeal is over too. I hope you're giving your arms a good rest until you need to lift that martini. You need to be able to do that.
Shrimp sounds delicious. What are you making with it or haven't you thought that far ahead?
You're welcome.

I knew today was Friday, but it actually didn't hit me that it was "Friday" til I just read Friday date night on your post here . . . time is flying again! Being outdoors is the best thing right now . . . what a wonderful morning of golf and family! And now it's home stuff . . . always something that has to be done, right? Well enjoy Friday date night tonight, you two !

@DianneN Feeling safe is gold! That's great that only one party is allowed - it's not often that anyone would get the whole place to themselves. And at that early in the morning, you didn't have to worry about sunburn or getting too hot. I don't blame you about bringing in your own stuff . . . as you know we don't eat out at all either - better to be safe than sorry about literally everything outside the home. The important thing is you all had a lovely time together !
All that hard work - done and paid off! Did you decide for dinner yet? I have no idea here . . . but I know for sure we're not going out .

Friday is one day that pops into my Friday posts somehow.
I haven't played golf since Florida and it showed as usual, but I felt so safe. Golf is by appointment only with only one party allowed on the course at a time. Snooze, you lose. We could have ordered breakfast to meet our monthly minimum, but I didn't even trust the coffee cups. Still enjoyed our time with our son.
Those horribly heavy doors are done and back on the closet. I'm done working for the day!
Enjoy your Friday, too!

@much2say Thanks for everything you said. Only fools eat out these days. I don't trust the dishes that a covid carrier may have used. I know I'm nuts, but at least I'm a safe nut! It was worth the minor inconvenience, and better our son went into the bakery than we. We did have a lot of laughs together. Our son is hilarious and keeps us laughing.
I was just served my martini. . We will have my husband's favorite tonight - shrimp scampi and a small salad. I decided I needed to use up a lemon before it goes bad.
I'm sure a dinner inspiration will hit you when you look in the refrigerator or freezer. That's what happened to me.. Enjoy every minute of your Friday!

@DianneN When I have shrimp I have to have it somewhere besides here as sis cant stand the smell of fish including shrimp. May have to attemp a delivery order from one of the seafood restaurants this weekend. may have to see if one of them is doing a red snapper special while they are in season since the season is so short.

Thanks so much! It's been a wonderful and happy day. Even happier now that I have my date night martini!
Those beautiful flowers are from my brother snd sis-in-law for my birthday last Saturday. They still look fresh and beautiful. I just hope they last thought the end of the month.

I'm amazed that you've gotten so much done before I've even had my second cup of coffee
I'm sure whatever you decide for dinner will be delicious.
Bet it was nice getting back on the golf course after all this time.

It was very safe on the golf course and we even took two cars. My son refused to be in the same car with us. He's so caring. lol
The closet doors are done. What a nasty and heavy thing to lug up and down the stairs and outside. Too bad my son couldn't help as he normally would have done.

I was talking to our city golf course manager today about getting back out on the links and starting play again. It's been years since I've golfed. He said he's got a sweet set of clubs he can give me, since I no longer have my own. Might just have to take him up on his offer; I sure miss the game, even though I was never any good at it.

@DianneN I agree! Good clubs are very expensive, so it would be nice if he can set me up with a sweet deal. I wouldn't mind paying for the extras (shoes, gloves, balls, etc) if I didn't have to worry about buying clubs.

@moffittjc The extras are nothing compared to the clubs. Make sure the clubs are the right fit for your height.

I've never played golf, but we use to practice at a driving range. We each got a bucket and shot until they were gone. I was awful! Jay's wood projects never end.

I love golf, especially here at our beautiful course, although I stink at it. The only thing missing is the ocean which we have in Florida. Our son won, hubs a close second, and then there was me......far behind.
This is a necessary wood project. The double doors to the closet couldn't open over the new area rug. I don't like being involved in heavy lifting.

@DianneN Jay is always shaving something, to make it fit right. Today, he took the day off. Todd is supposedly putting a porch roof on. We haven't heard from him yet.

Thanks! Everything has been great except for helping hubs with those darn heavy doors. We just brought the second one down a flight of stairs, and I had to help lift it onto horses. After he planes that, I have to help him get it back up the long flight of stairs and then I'm done!

An early morning golf game sounds fun. I am missing my Saturday family badminton or racketball game. That facility has not yet opened here. And we would still not be brave to use it if it opens.
Your Friday date night will be awesome as usual

We signed up for an early, early golf game before the covidiots woke up!
I love racquetball and would love to have a game with you some day!
Hubs set up our old badminton net in the yard and we were playing that until our town opened the tennis courts.
We play tennis only when no one is there and did this morning.
Thanks! We had a wonderful date night.
Enjoy your weekend with the family!
