When being old is a good idea.

I am old. I don´t know when I got the title. It went from young to middle aged (disturbing) and suddenly I became an old lady.
I think that at first it had to do how I looked at myself. Now I don´t even ask.
But there are good things attached to old age, specially when you have some money in your pockets.
I lent (gave) most of the money I inherited from my mother to my daughters. They were doing some investments and the COVID changed it all. But I have still some money and I decided that they would pay me only the interests of the loan. On the other hand, I spend a lot less now that Leticia is not with me. Eveen if I give her some big presents from time to time, it is much less than what I would spend with her working here.
This is just to tell you that I am spending a lot of money in being comfortable. I want to live well the present and that means money.
Although I will not buy clothes to be alone here, I will spend on heating during the winter. I cannot afford to get ill as there are no hospitals to go to.
All the money that I will save on Leticia´s wages (minus big presents and money if needed) and the money saved on airfare to Aruba will be spent on gas, delicious cheeses and other luxuries. I call them, the luxuries of the old people.
I´ll make my calls now (I´m spending on phone calls if needed) and then I´ll mylot. See you.

We feel the same way. We each worked over 45 years and want to be warm (or cool) in the house and eat decent food. Is that your picture? It's lovely!

The foto near my avatar is an old picture of myself. It is over 20 years old though. And that one is 15 years old with 2 of my grandsons.

I agree. All my life I have felt older or younger depending on the day

So true. When I was very young I wanted to be a movie star and have a mink coat
Now I have a silver fox coat that my father gave to my mother over 35 years ago and I have used it twice only for special reasons that had to do with health.

@marguicha My school friends and I all wanted to be movie stars too - or air hostesses. Now, I couldn't think of anything worse.

My mother helped her four children all her life. In her later years, she spent money on gas, delicious cheeses, and whatever she needed:) Mom owned her home and loved every day, spent with family!

We earn money to use it judiciously and to make best use of it to enjoy life. After all money is for our own comfort. Good that you are making best use of your money.

I have spent a lot of money in healthcare, specially when I had chemotherapy in spite of the government´s help. But I wouldn´t be here if it wasn´t for that.
I lent the extra money I had to my daughters, but they will take care of me later if needed.
