Haven't been here cause I am just devastated with stress and worry. Keep praying for another stimulus check or something to save us. We do have food for a few days now Daughter went to the food bank yesterday. They didn't have much but some. Still worried about the electric bill and yes they have told me if we don't pay by next Wednesday they can turn it off at their office. I could have done without it before when younger but not now. No way I could live. Some have said we can't be evicted at this time with the pandemic and all but I am not sure of that either and what happens as soon as it's over ? if ever. I am so over all this. Seems like as soon as things were running smoothly, BOOM! Several things messed up. Now our only transportation daughters car needs motor mounts. I expect it to quit working any time. photo is my youngest grand daughter and a sign she made

Be sure you tell the authorities that you need the electricity for your oxygen. I can't imagine they'd turn it off.

that's what you would think right? It has been so hot and even trying to keep it down the electric has risen to 385 bucks already to be paid out as soon as I get paid and now we are behind on the rent too.

Oh my so sorry to hear about all your problems, you know the saying "when it rains, it pours". Hopefully you can come to some agreement with the power co, so you won't be disconnected.

That's an adorable photo. I would contact the electric company to see if there is any aid they can give you. I'm sure many others are at wits end, too.

The stress does you no good, but I do not know how you can stop it. I hope another check comes sooner rather than later.

Because you need the electric for your oxygen tanks, your situation is different. Have you contacted Senior Services or the Salvation Army? Most of the food banks in our area have plenty to give. You are right-as soon as one thing goes right, something else comes along. Check closely about rental issues. Many don't realize they will eventually have to pay what was owed, but there are some local programs that will help.

@bunnybon7 No, you can't do it by yourself. There was a time when someone from a senior group (usually a volunteer or retired Social Worker) would make calls and apply for help as well. Hope you can get in contact with someone like that.

You can't be evicted as of yet. My brother worked in property management and he hasn't been able to evict anyone since this all began. Get in touch with Sharon here on mylot, shays_creations as she is on a program that helps her with her electric bill. I'm not sure how it works but hopefully she can help.
