Bumble Bee Drunk in Pollen

Was out watering the garden earlier. Noticed the bees are really swarming on the rose of sharon blooms. They enjoy the pollen. Snapped a few photos while out. The photo here shows how they look almost drunk and passed out from all the pollen. This bee has pollen from one end to the other. I enjoy seeing the bees and butterflies enjoying the blooms. Sharing the excitement with you on this hot July afternoon.

What a beautiful flower and photo! I’d rather be out hiking then doing what I am now.

@CarolDM it’s never to hot for a hike for me anyway. I see high temperatures and that’s when I want to go out.

@shaggin I can't tolerate the heat right now. Feels like 105 out there.

Bees and butterflies are remarkable beings. And they never change their course, it's exactly the same each year! Your rose of Sharon is breath-takingly beautiful

Yes they do this every year and I joke saying they look passed out from too much pollen.

Beautiful shot. I love to watch bees if we get any but I don't have enough blooms to attract very many and most are the tiny ones that I can barely see.

He was actually fairly large, hidden by the pollen. So funny to watch.

These bees are more interested in pollen than me. Move slow and they could care less.

I have not had any Rose of Sharon plants since we moved. Maybe I will get some from my brother. I gave them to him a long time ago.

That is a lovely photo with a bee. Enjoy your weekend. I have lots of bumblebee visitors these last few days on my zinnias and Lantana camara.

My front garden planter is bursting into bloom. I planted some wild flowers and poppies and it seems they are appearing. The geraniums and lavender flowers seem to be over for the bees, so I am hoping the new blooms will bring them back

My "Bee tree/shrub" is in full bloom now, and those pollen grabbers couldn't be happier That's a beautiful looking flower! I've also noticed some really colorful butterflies and of course lightening bugs when I sit on my deck at sunset.

Thank and soon to see you. Most bumblebees live underground. The honey bees have hives. I see those too.
