A Signature and a Walk

The office called to let me know they got the information back from WHEDA, a government housing program and I needed to sign my life away. It didn't surprise me since I got the letter in the mail finally from Housing telling me what my rent will be come September. My rent went up $1. I was hoping it would go down. Oh well, it's seldom when anything goes down, but at least it wasn't the increase I got last year when it went up $44.
So, I put my walking sneakers on, went to the office, signed my life away, and went for a walk. I thought about taking the longer route but decided on the regular route.
My Internet was acting up this morning. I couldn't connect to my Gmail or Facebook, so I closed down the computer when I went to the pool and hoped for the best when I got home. It was working fine when I got home and I could post my Bible study to my friends on my e-mail account and here.
I also acknowledged all the birthday wishes on FB. I couldn't do that this morning either when I tried to get on there. I don't know what was up with the Internet, but I'm glad it's working well now and I can be here to interact with you.
That's a quick snapshot of my morning. How is your day going? Thanks for reading. The image belongs to me. I'm also waiting for word from my friend who needed to take her kitty to the vet this morning.

I agree. I was hoping it would go down. I wondered about it because no one from Housing came out to inspect like they do every year before they decide on what portion of the rent I'll be paying. When I called the office a week ago, they said they weren't doing inspections because of the virus.

@yesterdayis I live in a government-funded apartment complex. They are required to inspect the apartments once a year.

Sounds like you had trouble with your internet for a while, maybe it has to do with your connection? These days internet has been slowed by so many people using it.

My Internet is fine. It's only when I'm on myLot that I have trouble. I talked to Admin. They're aware of the problem.
I just read my post and remembered the little problem I had with the Internet that morning. It's worked fine since.

Although it would have been nice if your rent could have gone down, a $1 increase is nothing to complain about when you consider how much it could have gone up (like it did last year).
Glad you got to enjoy the pool again today and that the internet was working when you got home.

@just4him Do you get increases in your fixed income on a yearly basis, such as a cost of living increase? They can't expect you to live on the same amount every year when inflation needs to be factored in.

@moffittjc Yes. I get an increase in my SS and then Housing and Social Services also get in on the action. They increase my rent, and lower my FoodShare because I get a little more income. Isn't that sweet of them. I also need to report what I make here and my royalties. It all factors in. It's a no-win game with the government.

When my internet or anything else for that matter isn't working correctly I'm trying to remember to reboot my computer and it usually helps.
I paid our companies unemployment tax the other day and only owed one dollar. I thought that was rather silly. It's usually about 25.00 or so.
Will the small increase mean that it's locked into place for a few years or might it continue to go up even small amounts each year?
Do you live near that lake? It's a pretty picture.

Yes, it is. She took her to the vet and got her all taken care of.
Yes, which is why I'm no longer posting. I can't get into them either to answer them. So, I'm here to read and interact until the site is better.

pretty picture. My computer has been acting slow. I decided to look to see if there were any Windows updates and there was. The update didn't get through yesterday before I turned off the computer so I decided to try it again today. Another update popped up. I couldn't do any videos early this morning. I restarted the computer just to discover I needed to restart again. The videos are working fine now. And I'm installing one update so I will have to restart again soon.

That's good to hear that it only went up $1 - definitely better than going up $44! Ours went up $1 too I think, but then they calculated something and it went down $5
