Ketchup or no ketchup?

So I was having a conversation with @kobesbuddy and since it was a open conversation I hope it’s alright that I refer to it. Made me wonder how many other people would agree with me or her? I’m certainly not saying either of us is really right or wrong, but I’m not wrong…BAHAHAHA. I’m kidding it is just a personal taste kind of thing. Okay, I will get to it already. Should Ketchup be used on anything is really my question. More importantly, should Ketchup be used on hot dogs and should Ketchup be used on steak? I’m actually not going to say here in the post who believes what in this, but once I see your answers I will comment on if I think you are right or wrong. I joke, it’s really ok if you are wrong. I wont hold it against you if you were not properly raised. P.S. I hope you all know I am joking.

I don't put ketchup on anything . . . but that's because I'm trying to avoid as much sugar as I can. But I used to be a ketchup freak. When I was growing up, we did put ketchup on our steak . . . I don't think my parents knew of very many condiments . Wrong or right, if you like it, you like it .

@much2say Not good. You cook all the flavor right out of them like that. I know cause my mom is the same way she over cooks steaks and then puts ketchup on them to hide the burned taste.

I don´t have ketchup at home and that means I don´t use it on anything. If I grilled meat in the oven, I brush ketchup a few minutes before I get the meat out of the oven. That means, I have to buy ketchup.

I love ketchup on anything to give it a better flavor. I have also used it on scrambled eggs.

@Bensen32 On a more serious tone, ketchup on fries is okay, but ketchup on steak is blasphemy.

I like ketchup on burgers and hot dogs, not on steak, at least not for many years. My favorite thing to have it on is fries!

I like ketchup on hot dogs, cheeseburgers, French fries, and more. However, I never use ketchup on a good quality steak (although I often use ketchup on a cheap and tough piece of steak). On a good quality steak, I only use barbeque sauce.

hot dogs should never have ketchup on them and if you get a god quality steak it needs no sauce of any kind.

We have a nephew who has ketchup even on roast dinners. I have it on meat pies or hotdogs but that's about it.

Hmm. Ketchup on a steak? Hell to the no on that one. But ketchup on a hot dog? Absolutely. I would say no to ketchup on a brat or Italian sausage. Those require some variety of mustard. Ketchup on scrambled eggs or even an omelet? Yes. Ketchup on a hamburger? Certainly. Ketchup on a ham sandwich? Nope. Ketchup with fries? You bet.

@sophie09 No not really. Tomato ketchup is a sweet and tangy sauce made from tomatoes, sugar, and vinegar, with seasonings and spices.
