July 22 - What I'm Thankful for Today

Today was an awesome day.
I'm thankful for the time I spent in the pool before this day got truly started.
I'm thankful for the trip to Washington Island. I have a lot of pictures to make into a collage of the trip. I'll do that tomorrow. The ferry to the island took half an hour. We got there around 11 this morning and returned on the last ferry at 6 PM.
The picture above was taken at the lodge we stayed at three years ago. It's under new management but still under the same name with a different owner's name. The lodge was for sale when we were there.
We visited many places on the island. One place we couldn't visit was the Mountain Tower as it's under construction. It's unsafe and needs a complete renovation. I have pictures of the tower from our last visit there. Some of the pictures of the island were taken from the top of the tower.
Two places we visited were lavender fields. They were beautiful as I'll show in the collage. The only one disappointment and that was the restaurant/pub we ate at for lunch. The service was ultra slow and the bathroom needed a good cleaning. We won't stop there again if we go back, and from the conversation on the way home, I think we will be, maybe next summer. The restaurant we ate at before we caught the ferry back to the mainland was awesome. Good service, friendly waitress, and clean, beautiful bathrooms.
With everything we did today, I thought I would get a lot more steps than I did. I didn't get my 10K steps until I walked into the apartment. I did achieve all of my hourly goals. So, that was a plus.
We stopped at Al Johnson's restaurant on the way, the restaurant with the goats on the roof. I hoped to get a better picture of them, but it was a bad angle and I couldn't get them and they were closed on the return. We thought about eating there on our way to the ferry, but they had an hour wait, so that was out of the question. They have a gift shop and I found a beautiful dress at 25% off and couldn't resist. I tried it on when I got home and it fits perfectly. A size L, there's no way I could have worn it even six months ago. And it looks awesome on me.
That's my day in a capsule. I'll have more pictures tomorrow.
I'm late getting to bed, but I wanted to let you know what I was thankful for today. What are you thankful for today. Thanks for reading. I'll see you all tomorrow when I attempt to clear almost 400 notifications. The image belongs to me. That's my new birthday shirt.

I´m thankful for many things today. But the best news was that Leticia will not need surgery. A diet will suffice and some pills.

Thank you. It was a wonderful day. I saw that shirt and knew it was mine. Just like I saw this set of bowls in the lavender shop and knew they were mine. They cost less than the bottles of lavender lotions and soap, which surprised me. I absolutely love them.

The place looks beautiful and sure you enjoyed a lot. When service is slow I also don't like that place and sorry about the bathroom too but how was food as quality good or not. That restaurant has one-hour waiting means sure popular one but can't wait for a long while on the trip. I am thankful for sleep.

The food was good, but the service doesn't beg us to return the next time we go there.
It's worth the wait if you don't have things to do and it's the only reason to be there. The food is totally excellent. But it was only a day trip and would have shortened our time on the island, so we'll go another day, and maybe then I can get good pictures of the goats on the roof.
This picture is from our first trip to the island and restaurant.
