Oh yes, salads and sandwiches are great with tomato slices. I did tried to grow tomatoes from seeds but failed. The bugs ate them.

There are many ways of serving tomatoes and which is best depends on the type of tomato and the flavour. Good, fresh tomatoes with a good acid are excellent sliced and mixed with sliced raw onion and dressed with salt, pepper, vinegar and olive oil. I think that's the way I like them best.

@peachpurple That's my favorite type of salad, although I love all types of greens. I also like kale, raw spinach, mustard greens and collard greens with their unique flavors.

My neighbor , gets them from my aunts tomatoes bushes. He eats them , right out of the garden, and like to put salt on them. I do not like them like that, I will have on a hamburger, or on a food, , but never eat a whole one.

Gosh, your neighbor should at least wash them before consume. Imagine the dusts and bugs crawling over the tomatoes!

I mostly eat tomatoes when I have grown them myself. The store tomatoes do not taste as sweet. I grow the small cherry tomatoes. We eat them for snacks or in a salad.
