I definitely need a vacation

Today I woke up very early. Let the cat out, and in and the other cat out, and in at 5. I got dressed for church. Ate breakfast, then went back to bed for two and a half hours.
Actually I think I had too much heat yesterday, or I needed more fluids. I am just a bit off. I mowed some yesterday in the heat.
Hubby just now got up, so we will not have time to get ready for church and that is okay. I will watch the service on Facebook. When you do not feel well you are supposed to stay home.
All this time of staying home, yet I need a vacation. What a thought.

I feel for you. I'm in the same boat. I need a vacation in the worst way, yet I'm not even really working right now due to COVID. I mean I am working, I'm just working from home, but there is more down time than there is productive time, so I guess it should feel more like vacation than anything? I don't know, I think I just need to get away for a while.

It seems we could do with a change of scenery, and possibly climate.

@GardenGerty A change of scenery, a change of climate; a change of longitude; a change of attitude. I could do with all of that. haha

When that happens to me, I just roll over and go back to sleep.

I really should have taken another nap this afternoon. I wish I could just roll over and fall back to sleep.

In the morning it was rainy and cold. I feel so sad that my trip to the USA and Caribbean couldn't go ahead this year due to the virus. We were meant to travel on this vacation in April you see. I feel very tired and had some extra sleep this morning. I really need a vacation. However I am not sure what to book in case it gets canceled.

@maximax8 We will go to Oklahoma for the day again soon. It is about a three and a half hour drive.

I know how much you love to travel. It is tiresome not to get to. I even hesitate to go to Oklahoma and see my elderly dad.

@GardenGerty Yes, travel is my top hobby and I would love to go off on another trip. It is the summer holidays and yet I can't decide where to go. Good luck finding a suitable time to see your elderly dad.

Truth be told, I think it’s a need to “get away from it all,” be it work or just the “routine.”
I keep my overnight bag packed at all times, just in case I feel that need to “get away from it all.” That’s what I did a couple of weeks ago: I was only gone three days, but it was so refreshing!

At this point we are not staying overnight anywhere. I knew a lady that traveled frequently as a claims adjuster. I was her Avon lady. She kept her overnight bag packed. She only used one shade of lipstick that would go with anything and was always prepared to go at a moment's notice.

@FourWalls We only stay with family for the most part. My daughter-in-law is an AGM for a hotel in McPherson.

@GardenGerty -- I certainly understand the apprehension to stay in a hotel in these times. Honestly, if I didn't trust Hilton I wouldn't go anywhere, either (or I'd turn my car into a camper van). However, they've proven their ability to clean the rooms to my satisfaction long before this began. And, given that people aren't traveling as much (I don't think I've encountered a sold-out hotel yet this year), they don't have to use the same rooms night after night.
However, as I said, I certainly understand and appreciate people's unwillingness to stay in a hotel right now. I guarantee you I wouldn't go near places like Super 8, Days Inn, Motel 6, or Red Roof! But again, that's been a policy since before the pandemic: you can get some disease in the parking lots of those places.

@LadyDuck I am sure. It did coincide with Horse going on vacation, though.

I did feel better pretty quickly. We have had cooler weather and some rain and so I am not mowing and it is easier to get things done.
