August 14 - What I'm Thankful for Today

It's the middle of the day, not the end when I usually write this post. However, there is nothing that will top my day like what just happened.
I'm thankful for answered prayer. Many of you know my oldest disowned me last October. I've been praying for him, and I spent the morning in prayer before I even did my Bible study. Then I got an e-mail from his girlfriend that shook me up so bad the only thing I could do was take a walk to think about how to reply. When I got home, I sent a reply.
It didn't take long and there was a buzz on my door. The prodigal had come home. We had a two-hour conversation. It was good. A lot was said in those two hours. A lot of good came from the visit.
I autographed my latest book and gave it to him. We hugged and said we loved each other because I do love him and he knows it. I'm going to hope this is the last time there will be an issue between us. He told me I could come and see my granddaughter. I'm so happy.
This is what I'm thankful for today. All the other things are good too, but nothing is better than having a child come home.
What are you thankful for today? Thanks for reading. The image belongs to me. Me and my children.

It's nearly a year that your oldest son disowned you. But he came to realize his big mistake and now the day has come for a reconciliation.
That's wonderful. It's the big day, a memorable one. Be of good cheer.

How wonderful that you and your son worked through the issues that had kept you apart.
I am thankful Mike and I were able to go over and celebrate his Mom's birthday. Thankful she is doing as well as she is. Taking care of Dad for the past 10 months and then him passing has been such a tremendous burden on her, us.
