Autumn Joy Sedum Turning Pink

Have talked about this Autumn Joy sedum in my garden before. I transplanted it last year from the deck to Dustin's garden. It is doing well. I love to watch the gradual process of this sedum. The plant starts out green. Now it is just starting to turn pink. Then it will gradually turn a dark burgundy at the end of the season. A beautiful sedum to have and watch in the garden. And the best part, this is a perennial. Cut it back at the end of summer and it comes right back in the spring.

I did my gardens with mostly perennials. No reason to replant stuff every year.

Is the sedum soft to the touch?

Yes, it is a succulent. Butterflies like it surprisingly. They use is as a landing pad. It is an even surface they rest on. Or so the research told me. Makes sense to me.

I haven't heard of the Sedam plant but looks so beautiful when they turn pink. Are these flowering plants. Doesn't look like normal plants with branches and leaves.

I love these plants, we have several and they are starting to show that hazy pink also. I find that these plants separate so well and they can grow almost anywhere, I planted some under our deck to spruce up that area, and they grew and flourished there. Such an amazing plant.

Oh good for you. I might have to split mine up as they have grown so well in the garden. I had to get a small fencing to go around to hold it up. Since the top is heavier, as it grows it is spreading like crazy.
