I am not portraying to be smarty pants. Did you ever think that the word 'myLotter' is wrong? All I know is the noun suffix '-er' should be added to the word 'myLot,' since we are considering it as a verb. Thus, we can make a noun in describing a person as a 'myLoter.' What do you think? Is it confusing? Image Credit: encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com

If it didn't have the double 't' the pronunciation would be 'myLoter' as in 'slow' - long 'o' sound rather than short 'o' as in 'lot'

I do agree with the pronunciation part. I just wondered how the word 'myLotter' had started.

Good catch. But there is always a rule in English grammar. We double the last letter of the word if it ends in a single consonant. Like what JJ and Anna's examples Sit Pit both ends with consonant, so we double the "t" to become "tter" However, if it ends with two consonants like BANK, to make it a noun, we only add -er.

@jobelbojel These are special cases in English grammar rules and this is considered to be one. I am sure you are aware of them. Regardless, it will be more official if it is included in dictionaries like the word babysitter.

According to correct English it can only be "myLotter" and JJ is right with his example, I can add, from cherry pit it comes "cherry pitter" and not piter. I am sure you can find plenty of examples.

I can accept this idea. There are some words that can apply to the usage of the word 'myLotter.' I agree with @myklj999 too.

I assume it's myLotter. I write MyLotter, but that's only because I've capitalized (erroneously) the "m" since I've been here.

I also assumed that the pioneers have been using it. When I joined in, I just accept using it.

Based on the way the word is pronounced, "MyLotter" seems far more appropriate in spelling. Without the extra T in there, in traditional English, the O would be pronounced as an Oh sound instead of an Ah sound. So, if it were spelled as "MyLoter" it would likely be pronounced as "My-Loh-Ter." Just my two cents.
