Life and those TV commercials!

I used to have a more diversified life. Over 10 years ago, prior to my lymphoma I was very active. Besides having my house shining and a garden beautiful by the simple method of getting seeds and taking care of them, I had a small vegetable plot. I read and wrote, directed literary workshops. Where did I get the energy?
I do know what took it away. I had to have chemotherapy as my lymphoma was on stage IV. It is on remission now but I don´t make long term plans. In this sense, the COVID had been very nasty with me.
Lately I watch more TV than ever and every day I have to see those commercials where you would be slim in no time if you take this or that pill. I wonder: if that were true, would there be so many obese people in this world?
Then there are the cooking gadgets (should I throw all my old ones to get these new ones?)
But the ones I prefer are all the gadgets that will turn your old home in a beauty with the help of them
Still real life is not as awesome as what the TV commercials say. Buying online will not insure you that you will get what you want.
What´s your opinion?

TV commercials are a lot like used car salesman. They both have a line insisting there product is the best one can buy. I also hate the same commercial played twice in a row. And the same one played every half hour or so all day long

I agree that those that play twice in a row are annoying . I try to DVR most everything so I can fast forward through them

We are inundated by fake reviews of products, everything looks perfect until you try something. I am bringing back a air fryer tomorrow, I thought it was something good, but it's not, my convection oven does a lot better and I did not even realized that finally the principle is the same.

TV commercials promise a dream and sadly a lot of people buy into it all thinking that life would be better with this or that.

Once in a while I fall for one of those things "as seen on TV". If they are clothes, they don´t fit. And if they are gadgets, they don´t work

Commercials have their place to inform us what is out there to purchase; but there are SO MANY of them. Sometimes I forget what program I was watching.

I stopped watching TV a very long time ago. First while still in NYC and then in Latvia because there just were no normal TV shows and started using the Internet for entertainment as well as videos and DVDs. However one of the main reasons for stopping TV watching was as you say the commercials. When I found myself at times having a commercial or its melody pop into my head that was it I never wanted to see another commercial again,

I agree with you. We don't watch commercial TV so we miss out on being coaxed into buying this, that and the other.
