Evacuated from Fire

We went on alert very early Monday morning and then got the alert to go. It was a madhouse moving nine cats, three dogs, six horses and one donkey out.
I had packed a bag and got my little safe ready to load when we hit level 1. It was crazy how fast the fire moved - three acres a second, that brought us to level 3. So far they are holding it off about three or so miles from our house but it's burned two towns and many businesses in a third. The lake, about 28 miles away, where we loved to camp and visit, burned down. (Detroit.) It's called the Creek Fire.
We have another not too far called Lionshead and there are coastal, southern and others going as well.
We've had strong gusty winds that caused the spread to be worse. This happens about once a century and very rare. These winds are only normal for Dec/Jan.
Our homes are OK but the air is still very thick with smoke like night time. We've lost a lot of food and the smoke is thick inside so cleaning is major. Not going to be easy until the power is back on.
I can't believe all the fires happening around us. It's horrible. First my home-away-from-home in CA and now here.
I hope everyone is keeping safe.

@crazyhorseladycx It is. We were downgraded to level 2 yesterday. I can't go home to my mini yet since during the evacuation, my well was used and the generator blew a pipe (had no power.) I don't remember the particulars but I have no water to shower, toilet, clean, wash bedding, walls etc of the smoke. I'm hoping by this weekend I can go home. My daughter's and family's are back now. Just still packed and ready to go if the fire changes back again.

@amitkokiladitya Yesterday, they finally have 15% containment but it will be until the heavy rains come to help put the large fires out or get better containment. We are OK and downgraded to level 2 which is still be prepared to go but so much better than the 3 we were on.

We are safe and our homes OK but we are still level 3 - Go Now. I've been with my son for a week now and been going back and forth to check on things. It is promising but the National Guard is there blocking the roads in. We are fortunate. Many are not.

The fires in CA, Oregon, and Washington have made the news here on the East Coast. It must have been so hard to get everyone out so quickly. I'm so sorry you have to go through this and hope your home, family, and animals all stay safe.
