Eyelashes to die for

It seems most of my posts recently have been about kangaroos but I just had to share this photo.
We have a lot of kangaroos on our 18 acres but one doe and her yearling seem to like hanging around the house. The doe has a big pouch so I’m hopeful of getting a video of her new joey when he/she starts to leave the pouch to practise his hopping.
This afternoon they were just outside the French doors which lead to the bedroom and Vince was able to take this shot of her head. Doesn’t she have just the most incredible eyelashes? I wonder if they help attract the attention of the bucks.

@wolfgirl569 I'm hoping to get a video of her joey when it starts learning to hop. Wouldn't that be cool?

That's good. I wonder sometimes if people are sick of seeing them.

@just4him As far as I'm aware that's what happens to all pouched animals. I just researched the opossum and they have the same system. However, they have a large number of young and many fail to get to the pouch and find a pouch. But they can have a dozen or more joeys survive.

Gestation is about 37 days. They start out the size of a jellybean and claw their way up to the pouch. Then it takes a while for them to develop, get hair, etc. They leave the pouch for good at about 11 months but continue to suckle for a few more months.

I had never seen a kangaroo myself. Hope one day I can do it. As for the kangaroo's lashes, oh my gosh they're fabulous!

@jvicentevalera They are very timid most of the time. If the bucks become unafraid of humans then they can become aggressive and they will almost attack if cornered. The does don't fight but are more likely to just panic.

@JudyEv I bet you do. I wonder are they wild as tigers and lions? So sorry for the question but I haven't seen them in person so I don't know how they act.

Many would pay a pretty penny to have lashes that long.
