I'll be around

United States
September 15, 2020 2:27pm CST
I am wondering how many of us here will be around more because of all the expenses we have coming up... The Ber months are the most straining part of the year financially. I know that there are plenty of people here on mylot that do it just for fun, but I'm willing to be that all of us have used this site to help us pay down a debt, pay towards a gift, or afford a cup of coffee every once in awhile. I know I'll be around here more often just letting the pennies add up more. I have too many things I need to buy and too many thing I want to buy so it's not just mylot that I'll be working harder at. This isn't a goals post though.. Those are iffy here on the 'lot. No this is about cheese, what's your least favorite cheese? Mine... Hmm.. I'll get back to you on that one

I shall be here but just the same as normal. No real extra expenses for me during these ber months. Infact fewer bills to pay, less places to go will make Jimbo more wealthy, Hope I'm still healthy to enjoy being wealthy

@JimBo452020 Ah I see. You must be rolling in the mylot dough then. I get maybe enough to pay for half my cellphone bill each month if I"m lucky.

I won't be spending any more time here. This site isn't a big moneymaker for me. I will just do it when I am not doing anything else. Least favorite cheese might be homemade. There is a commune here that is pretty self sufficient. They sell hammocks and do farming...but I had some of the cheese they made once, and it was awful. It was super strong.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Yes, Ibotta is irritating though. As soon as I cash out this next time I think I am gonna D/C them and go to another app though.maybe Checkout 51 or Receipt HOg.

@snowy22315 I'm sure they are. I know I was doing a few of them that seemed halfway decent at one time. Do you still do ibotta? I haven't done that as much and I can't really do it very often with me being on keto.

I'm already thinking about what to get everyone. My dad is the hardest to buy for because he legitimately does not want anything. I hope I can pick up some extra cash soon, but I can't spend as much as I did last year. I went crazy buying for my niece and nephew.

@ScribbledAdNauseum He's never golfed, but maybe you're on to something with suggesting an activity and not a tangible gift.

@AmbiePam There's axe throwing if he's still in the condition to do that... Or if he likes bowling you could take him out to bowl and maybe a dinner, even if the dinner has to be takeout.

I am the worst and the best at gift buying. I'd do better if I actually started buying earlier, but I say that I will and never do. I usually get one of those gift sets for the picky people or else a gift card. Does he like to golf? Maybe you could buy him a round of golf.

There are quite a few cheeses that I have not had and a few I don't like so not sure which is my least favorite but I do know one of my favorites is Swiss Cheese.

I know I've had swiss cheese before but I don't seek it out so its' been awhile since I've had it. Munster is one of my most favorites.

Ah, plastic cheese as I call it. There was a cheese I tried with onion in it and I wasn't a fan of it. I can't remember what it was called.

I will try to be here more often for pay but there are a lot of obligation and works which I would need to fulfill somehow. But I will still try.

I like cheddar when it's shredded better than I do when it's block form, I"m not sure why.

I have Christmas on my mind and usually I try to shop using whatever money I have in my paypal. I know we don't make much money here but the $$ add up every month. Yes, I'll probably be here a bit more now.

I use the money every month to go towards my cellphone bill. I really should just let it sit in my paypal and accrue, but I don't. Maybe I'll actually do that these next two months though.

I agree that we are coming up on the months that many of us could use the extra cash, but it's always been the time of year that I seem to be the least active on myLot, just because I've been so busy in other areas of my life. I don't think I'll ever be able to top the amount of time I spent on here (and money I've earned) than I have during the COVID months of being in quarantine and lockdown. I was making a killing over about a 5-month period.

Right. I think a lot of us were doing better than we ever had before when all we had to do was be online. I know there are a few people here that are on the site nearly 24/7 and I don't think that could ever be me. a few year ago mylot actually helped fund my wedding... Well when I say a few years ago, I mean 2009. They paid better then.

Now that my Mom is gone my main reason to spend money in December went away, too. My hubby and I really don't need material things so we've been doing little things like writing up sillies that show we appreciate each other. I do love cheese. I've cut it mostly out of my life due to its calories and salt.

@sallypup Oh wow! That's fantastic and I think it's a brilliant thing. I'm sure many people look forward to it every year.

I stopped buying gifts for people for a couple of years, but now I try to buy some. The list has gotten bigger. It's easy and hard because I know for at least one friend she prefers a gift that isn't going to stay around for a long time, and if it is - then a gift she will use a lot. I get in a kick where I eat a lot of cheese and then I'll go months without it.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I love aged Irish cheddar but nope. Not going there. Money going out at Yule Tide?? Probably at least 150.00 zips away cause of my Yule Tales. I write a short Yule themed story and mail it snail wise to about 30 people, friends and family. A couple go to Canadians. I have already bought the front cover paper. My daughter illustrates and e mails a copy to Staples then I go pick up all the formatted Tales, hubby binds them and I pop them into manila envelopes and mail them. Its my gift to the world.

I use my earnings so that we can go out to dinner and also for occasional purchases. I like any mild, melted cheese. Yum!

I tend to consider mine as paying for half of my cellphone bill since it's $30 a month. Though now I'd like it to go more toward presents. I like a sharp cheese with a bite, but I also like the milder cheeses.

I've already ordered a couple christmas presents. One of Brooks is sitting on top of my dresser right now. Glad she hasn't found it. UHM. probably extra sharp cheddar, or brie.

@thislittlepennyearns Using the gift cards you accumulated, I am guessing? Do you still use verydice? I haven't used that in awhile. The only thing I do is this and prolific. I don't even get on qmee anymore. I've been focused more on writing.
