Thankful Post for September 21

This is now the third time I'm trying to post this. I almost had it last time. I'm thankful surgery went well. I'm thankful I didn't go home. I'm thankful I am eating. I'm on my second chocolate pudding. I told them I'm on a Paleo diet and intend to keep to the plan. I'm thankful I made it through the process of getting out of bed and using the commode. Sheer torture. I'm thankful that in a few hours Autumn arrives. Beautiful colors. Cooler temps. Okay, that was my day. What are you thankful for? The image belongs to me.

My phone is currently on the charger. The best time would be around noon early afternoon. Therapy comes in twice a day. So that time should work. Today was bad with pain, but it's much better now.

@crazyhorseladycx You're on mountain time, right? I'm on central. I'm one hour later than you. If you call at 2 your time, it should work perfect.

I am so happy to hear that your surgery was successful, and that you are somewhat up and and about now! Can't wait to hear about your progress toward full recovery and mobility!

@just4him I can imagine how bad the pain was on the first day. Hopefully you have painkillers to help manage the pain. When I had my knee surgery, I flat out told the surgeon I wasn't taking anything stronger than Tylenol or Advil. He said I would change my mind after the surgery once the pain set in. I was resolved not to take any prescription medicines, and so I mentally prepared myself for dealing with the pain. In the end, I never once took even Tylenol or Advil, I went the entire recovery with no painkillers whatsoever.

@moffittjc That's totally awesome. They have me on Tramadol. I don't take it very often now. The pain is tolerable at 0-1.

I remember a conversation I had with my pastor last year. I was telling him that even in the worst possible situation, I can still be thankful for something. When I was 12 I fell and broke my arm. I am disabled and my left arm is paralyzed. By the grace of God, my left arm is the one that broke. To this day I am still thanking God that I didn't break my good arm -- I would have been a complete vegetable if that had been the case. To bring my story up to date, I praise God every day that I wake up, and that I am alive, happy and healthy. It is truly a blessing.

I am glad that surgery went well and you could be using the commode. Better to spend a night or two in the hospital, you are safer there.
