New York Times claims President Trump and the First Lady have contracted Corona Virus. Fake News?

I read a New York Times article this morning claiming that President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump have tested positive for Covid-19, the Corona Virus. According to the same article, Vice President Mike Pence has tested negative.
President Trump is experiencing cold-like symptoms, the article continues, as is his wife. However, a couple of MyLotters have argued that everything in the New York Times is poppycock, and I respect all members of our community, so I went to FOX News's website to "vet" the New York Times article and make sure it was not "fake news."
For those of you who don't know, the New York Times tends to "lean to the Left, while FOX news tends to "lean to the Right." To my surprise, FOX News also said that Trump and his wife and contracted the virus.
I wish them both, and all others who have contracted the virus, a speedy recovery.

In the case of COVID I wish speed recovery to everyone that has it. As for it being fake news, I don´t trust any media. And I don´t trust politics or politicians. Last debate was a shame. Maybe all of them had high fever.

The latest I know--Biden and his wife tested negative. Trump was taken by helicopter to Walter Reed Hospital. Hope Hicks tested positive. Some conspiracy theorists say China infected him.

@TheHorse It's very annoying, so I can understand why they write about every time it happens to a football player.
No stubbed toes, but I got a 10 cm long scratch from a nail in the stable. I might have to find a hammer to stop it from happening again.

@TheHorse I have read early this morning that he already had a video conference to say that he feels a lot better. The major Swiss newspapers have not been very nice toward him yesterday. They mainly say "he is a liar, he never said the truth, why should we believe now that he is really sick and not faking..."

I too wish speedy recovery to Trump and the First Lady. However, I do not think Trump was right in interacting with so many people, not regularly wearing a face mask or keeping distance.
Our PM wears a face mask even in most video conferences, and follows social distancing and wearing mask.

I don't think it is fake news. It is very scary and I wonder what will happen next. The president himself tweeted that he and Melania have it. Also, Hope Hicks, his advisor has it. Trump and Hicks are experiencing symptoms although it did not say what they were. Melania has kidney issues which put her at a higher risk than others in her age group.

I have SOME reserve here. In the back of my mind I thought well, maybe this a way to have him avoid a future debate debacle. BUT, I don't think having the virus serves him any better than his debate performance did. And that's saying something considering how strong of a Trump supporter I am.
I wish him and his wife a very speedy recovery as well, and wish an end to this whole frigging mess.

Just checked Mr. President's official Twitter account, and it is true. As he and Melania have it. He's currently quarantining. I also read Ivanka and her husband tested negative for Covid-19.

@TheHorse Yes, for an outsider like me it looks like an one man show against the democratic traditions that others looked up to. I am often reminded about what Deng Xiaoping said:
"The United States brags about its political system, but the President says one thing during the election, something else when he takes office, something else at midterm and something else when he leaves.".
Now people worry whether he will ever leave unless nature takes its course!
