I'm sorry but it was a stupid and unfair comment!

I just need to vent about something I read the other day. I can't remember what photo or video I saw while scrolling through Facebook but I THINK it was about a dog who was mistreated. I didn't want to know the story as I always cry when I hear about an animal being hurt whether on purpose or by accident.
Anyway I was scrolling through the comments and this woman wrote something like "Only vegans love animals."
I'm sorry but no. A big NO. I am not a vegan. I eat meat. I grew up eating meat. I love some types of meat but in no way is it because I dislike animals. If you're vegan, fine. I think that's wonderful! Your body, your choice! I've no complaints!
But to read that made me feel so angry. I adore animals. Even ones I am frightened of. But I would never harm any animal for fun. Even spiders, I hate them near me but if I see one in my house I actually find something to scoop it up with and take it outside.
I just view this a bit differently. I personally know someone who is vegan and she is almost always going on about why people shouldn't eat meat and will force her family to stay away from it. Ok fine, but admittedly that does get annoying to feel shamed for eating meat. But the way I personally see it, if you put, I don't know, a roast chicken in front of me and I didn't eat any of it, it goes in the bin then to me it feels like that chicken's life was totally a waste. But that's just ME!
In no way do I mean any harm to those who are vegans. But it does annoy me when SOME vegans say things like that.
I find it unfair and a tad ignorant, sorry. If you see me running around in the wild with a gun shooting animals for fun then come at me but otherwise, don't say stuff like that because it's not true. Many people out there love to eat meat AND love animals.
I'd love to know your thoughts on this! And I hope I didn't offend anyone. I'm just venting about this one comment that this one woman said.

I understand your reaction, I am not vegetarian or vegan but I LOVE animals. You know vegans are a sort of sect and all those are par of a set are brainwashed fanatics who have to offend all the others just because do differently of how they do. Those people are stupid and ignorant. Ignore them, look at many vegan like Pamela Anderson, they want to make non vegan guilty but they buy expensive leather bags and shoes and furs, some made with protected animals.
This proves their stupidity.

@LadyDuck I know what you mean. I often get addicted to watching videos on YouTube of ignorant people caught on film. And yeah, sometimes it's out of this world with what people do or say to try and get their way.

You should throw the comments back in their face, and tell the vegans that they are plant haters, and that they are killing harmless plants that provide much needed oxygen to this planet.
Plants have feelings too ya know! lol

@VivaLaDani13 You could always ask a vegan....if they hate meat so much, why do they try to make all their vegetable food products taste like meat?

@moffittjc lol well I think the idea behind it is because they don't like the fact that meat mean slaughtering animals.
They would rather eat something that taste like meat instead of actually eating meat.

@moffittjc oh that would have been gold to say back lol though, I wasn't even part of this conversation and honestly, had no energy to fight that much ignorance.

Honestly I think you just came across a troll
A troll is "A person who starts flame wars or intentionally upsets people on the Internet by posting inflammatory and digressive, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community"
Trolling is a misunderstood thing as sometimes they can be a force for good, other times they can just have the purpose to cause upset.
Also, some people often say they are getting trolled because many people are abusing them...this can be incorrect as the abuse may be the honestly held beliefs of the responder rather than a comment with the intent to upset.
I am active on so many media sites I can 90% of the time recognise a troll either by their username/content or the tone...I then ignore them or have a go depending on how I feel.
My advice is don't let stuff on the net get to you.
Also, you can always send me a link as I do still like to argue and have got pretty good over the years

@Mike197602 When I read your first sentence I was going to say that I don't think she was a troll ( I know what trolls are ) but knowing more details about what trolls can do, I now wonder if maybe she was. A troll or just ignorant. Or both? Can you have a mixture of the 2?
Thank you for your explanation and advice. I'd already forgotten about her. Well not now because I am answering all this comments lol but she doesn't ruin my days. At the time though, I just did that "Pffft" sound to myself because it was a stupid comment.
oh my goodness! I will keep you in mind for that!

@DocAndersen I know what you mean! I'm not really fond of that "I'm right and you're wrong" type of attitude. I think it's fine to share what we know and believe to be right but being a jerk about it is just annoying.

It is definitely not true. I don't eat meat anymore, but I did in the past and I have always loved animals. My family and most of my friends eat meat. If we are having dinner together and they want to eat meat, that's fine. I feel good about my choice, but I would never try to convince them to quit meat.

@VivaLaDani13 Maybe it is ignorance or she just thinks she is always right. Maybe she does not think about how her comments affect other people.

Humans are omnivores. Scientific, biological fact. And so really, being vegan is unnatural. But like you said, to each his or her own. If they don't want to eat meat, that's fine. Don't. But don't chastise me for doing it. I don't chastise them for not doing it.
I think the comment may not be over the top. But it is certainly not true.

@Nevena83 I say she was just being ignorant really. I mean it's good if she loves animals and doesn't eat meat but she didn't have to talk as if she was perfect. It was quite annoying.

I think it's quite a great idea to love and care about animals. For me I consider animals as God's creation therefore I should take care of all God's creation including the animals though I am not a vegan
