In Quarantine

I just got home from my doctor's appointment and the COVID test. I'm now in quarantine. We did make one stop on the way home. I needed some readers I could properly work with on the computer as the pair I had was way too strong compared to the ones I'm wearing now. There wasn't anyone in the store besides the clerk at Dollar General, so I didn't need to worry about social distancing.
When my son picked me up we discussed the car situation. I told him I expected the car I have to be my last. My license renews in 2025. We talked about the next car he wants to get being in both our names. He's good with that. I know we still have more talking to do about it.
I also reminded him he needs to pick me up immediately after work Monday morning as I need to be at the hospital by 6:45 AM. My surgery is at 9:45.
The PA I saw this morning asked me which rehab facility I wanted to go to. I told him the same one as last time. Due to the COVID cases in Wisconsin right now, it might not be possible, and I need to be aware of that. I told him no problem. Whatever works best. I asked him how long I would be in the hospital. He told me it would depend on how soon I could get a bed in rehab. I know last time it was four days. He was very happy with the progress with the right knee.
Now, I'm ready for surgery. I have the special soap and high carbohydrate drink I need before surgery. I need to drink it three hours before surgery.
I keep thinking it's Saturday instead of Friday. I really want to get this surgery done and over with.

i hope y'all get't all worked out (the car thingy). fingers crossed he remembers ya come monday morn. i can see yer desire to rush through the next few days. get'er done so's ya can start the healin' process yet 'gain.
my day? i think the well 'tis possessed. water went off 'gain last night. this morn 'twas back'n 'gain. all by 'tself. 's now done this 4 times. most frustratin' coz i'd really love a shower'n to wash my hair.

Maybe you need an exorcist for your well. I'm sure you would love to shower and wash your hair.
Yes, we'll get it all worked out. I'll call him Monday morning. I told him I'd call him. Yes, I want the days to rush by so I can get it done and over with.

@just4him if'n not fer social distancin' 'n i think i've caught a bug (from where i've nary a clue), i'd gather my schtuff'n head to town. visit with my sweet momma 'fter a shower. one can 'nly 'spit bathe' so much, eh?
that's good, hon. i don't blame ya there. though 't least ya now 've more ideas 'bout how this'un should go. that'n y'ave all the schtuff needed to make 't easier.

@just4him Having a back up helper for driving sure sounds sensible to me. I find it sad and tragic that much of America does not have decent public transportation. Where I live right now, if I can't drive I don't eat or I pay a good amount to get a service to get me food.

I felt when I got my license renewed last time I might be too old to get another license. We'll see. I know many people a lot older are still driving. I'll be 72 when my license renews. Also when I got this car, it felt like my last one. Maybe it's because my son and I will share the next car. Those are just thoughts that are subject to change as the time gets closer to renew my license.

I know the surgery is going to go great. Today is going good as it is Friday and looking forward to my phone meeting tonight. Before you sign the dotted line on you and your son sharing one car make sure you have guidelines in place on how it is going to be shared once you can drive again.

@Elizaby My son is determined to get a new car not a used one. We'll see what happens. As for my older son. It's best not to have those two close to each other for a while. I'll be happy if my older son pays my younger son for the tool he bought.
I'm glad you had spiritual breakthroughs. That's a total blessing.

@just4him It was great with some spiritual breakthroughs. Glad to hear you and your son will be talking things over and since your older son son is a mechanic have him go oever any car your are considering with a fine tooth comb so you don't get one on the verge of parts being worre out already
