How MyLot helped me make $1341.00 today alone!

They say a penny saved is a penny earned, right? Some of you know that my trusty 2008 Nissan Xterra "blew up" in Montana this past Summer. I took it to the most recommended fix-it place in my hometown there, and was given a quote of $X000.00 to fix it. Holy sh*t! Several thousand dollars to fix my "truck" (actually an SUV). It would take several months to fix it. I love my Xterra and said yes. Desperate, I rented a car, searched around town, and bought the 2008 Chevy Silverado pick-up I'm driving now. It cost $6,000 (Montana has no sales tax). Today, I got a call from the fix-it place in Montana. My SUV is ready, the man said. I replied, "I already paid you $DG00.0000. So I must owe you about $CS00.0000." The man who had worked on my car said, "No, your timing chain was intact, and that saved you about $1300.00. And we only charged you $200 for the new tires." So I saved $1300 due to his Montana honesty, made $40 helping an autistic child this afternoon, and made a few cents on MyLot as well. Rounding up the MyLot part, my "net gain" on the day is $1341.00. If that could happen every day, I could retire happily in a couple of years. Did you have a good day financially? I am sipping wine and getting ready to play some non-blues (music) with a friend.

I reached payout and as long as that number doesn't decrease I am happy.

I always reach payout too. But I like having those months where the conversations go crazy and we make 'big bucks" just for having fun.

@TheHorse I usually never go much past the payout minimum. Usually always in the 5 range.

I did, although not as good as you did! I got a check for sales last month at the flea market. I didn't even look at it and was just glad I got it. I will have to dig it out of my purse tomorrow!

@TheHorse Oh no! That sounds like something I would do--lose a big check. I'm glad you found it. Was it stashed in an odd place?

Nice. Financially I didn't gain or lose a cent, I guess that's kinda good in a way.

Hmm I don’t look at it daily as I do weekly or monthly. I always gain about $15 weekly online into my PayPal. It’s something I almost have $200 saved into my PayPal.

@Marty1 Occasionally I actually use PayPal to buy something. But I usually use my credit card.

@Marty1 I would not have a credit card for which I had to pay a fee.

Count my blessings is my way. Financially, I am okay, though retired, with no income except from myLot. Something is better than nothing is how I look at it. With real work out of my way, I am on a roll during the final leg of my innings here.

@Shiva49 Is it hard to explain how the tax benefits work?

@TheHorse No social security as such but we have tax benefits for savings on retirement fund. If that accumulates to a decent sum, we can get a fair amount of monthly payouts till our passing. I have a few other investments to assure a fairly comfortable retirement.

I wish I could be that lucky. I'm lucky if I average between 20 and 34/ cents/day on here. It was enough to make payout this month and about a dollar more, but wow. If I made that a day, my husband could retire and I could pay off the house in a few months instead of 26 years.

The VA makes deposits on the last work day before the first of the month if said first day falls on a weekend, so yes, I had a good day financially. Play one for Billy Joe Shaver tonight.

You were darn lucky to find a mechanic out of state that was honest with you! I won $2 in the lottery this week. Does that count? :-)
